In other words, the top CBs that you feel are both: good fits for our defense and realistic possibilities that can be acquired this offseason.

Ill give my uninformed and ignorant couch GM top 10: (feel free to go top 15-20)

1. Sam Shields, GB - RFA 5'11 just turned 25

2. Brent Grimes, ATL - UFA 5'10 will be 30 at start of 2013 season

3. Dominique Rogers-Cromartie, PHI - UFA 6'2 will be 27 at start of 2013 season

4. Dee Milliner, ALA - draft eligible True Junior

5. Johnathan Banks, MSU - draft eligible True Senior

6. Xavier Rhodes, FSU - draft eligible True Junior

7. Bruce Johnson, NYG - UFA? 5'11 just turned 25

8. Logan Ryan, Rutgers - draft eligible RS Junior

9. David Amerson, NC St. - draft eligible True Junior

\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"

I could have sworn Sean Smith got franchised by the Dolphins, but if not, he is #1 on my list.

After that, I want Brent Grimes or Derek Cox.

Don't know too much about the CB's in the draft.

Thanks for the names, though. Appreciate it.

Re: Sean Smith

Only thing I could find after a quick Google search was a few stories/rumors that the Dolphins are going to consider tagging him. These were all from.Dec 29th.

1) Keenan Lewis
2) Derek Cox
3) DJ Moore
4) Antonie Cason
5) Greg Toler

1) Amerson
2) Ryan
3) Poyer
4) Trufant
5) Davis
6) Malone
7) Howard

Listed players I think fit what the Bucs are looking for in corners, and players that should be reasonably priced!

Current FAs Nnamdi, Porter, Grimes, Sheldon Brown, and Winfield would all be the best CB on the roster, if signed...

They would also be a legit #2 if Revis were actually acquired. It would be wise to attempt to solidify the defensive backfield even before the draft. The less holes needed to fill, the better.

Nnamdi hasn't gotten burned too much for a man to man CB. He's damaged goods, and I don't think that swags coming back. With Grimes it all depends on the health. If I see a video of him running and cutting like I saw of John Beason (same injury) about this time last year, then I'm all for it and he's top of my list (of FAs). Brown or Winfield would be solid #2's, although I prefer Brown because he hasn't been as beat up. All that time in the Metro may have drained the tank for Winfield.

In the draft I like Rhodes (actually more than I like Millner) and Trufant, but not at #13 and I don't think they will get very far past #20 if at all. I think Logan Ryan is a guy who may be there for the Bucs in the 3rd, and who could come in and compete to start.

My prediction is we sign Sheldon Brown, trade for Revis, and draft Logan Ryan in the 3rd.

All of them are better than what we have.

The Bucs need to sign a free agent corner. If they then make a trade for Revis, well then thats great, we have solidified our weakest area and will have tremendous flexibility in the draft.

If they don't make a trade for Revis, we can draft a corner to go with the free agent corner and at least be better than last year in the secondary.

But I think the have to sign a corner - and soon.
