Terrell Suggs tears into Patriots

Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs doesn’t like the Patriots.  And now that he’s on his way to the first Super Bowl of his career after beating them in the AFC title game, Suggs has teed off on his team’s long-time nemesis.

“Tell them to have fun at the Pro Bowl,” Suggs said after the game, via Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports.  “Arrogant f–kers.”

Suggs elaborated, explaining that, in his view, “These are the most arrogant pricks in the world starting with [coach Bill] Belichick on down.”

Suggs eventually calmed down, but only after pointing out that “ever since Spygate they haven’t been able to win.”

“All BS aside they are a hell of a ball club,” Suggs said.  “They have the right to be arrogant.”

Under that standard, the Ravens do, too.  Five straight playoff berths.  Five straight years with at least one playoff win.  Three AFC championship games.  And now, finally, their first trip back to the Super Bowl in 12 years.

We’ve got a feeling that, win or lose, Suggs won’t be calling the 49ers coach an “arrogant prick” two weeks from tonight.

Sharpe rips Belichick for declining post-game interview

Patriots coach Bill Belichick never looks happy when he wins.  He’s definitely not happy when he loses.

And CBS analyst Shannon Sharpe has had enough.  Sharpe ripped Belichick for declining to submit to an interview with Steve Tasker of CBS after Sunday’s 28-13 loss to the Ravens.

“There’s something to be said about being gracious in defeat,” Sharpe said.  “We’ve seen the New England Patriots five times in the last 12 years be victorious.  And we’ve seen the opposing coaches that lost come out and talk to our Steve Tasker.  Coach Cowher did it when [the Steelers] lost to them.  We saw this last week [when the Patriots beat the Texans].

“Bill Belichick makes it real easy for you to root against the Patriots.  You can’t be a poor sport all the time.  You’re not gonna win all the time.  And he does this every time he loses.  It is unacceptable.”

So much for the perception that CBS is the official network of the New England Patriots.

Then again, if Sharpe isn’t back with CBS next year, we’ll know why.

Suggs went a little overboard but Sharpe is right. The League should fine Billy Boy!

This is why people hate the Patriots, not because of "spy gate". But the head coach is a classless prick. He is living off Tom Brady, without Brady, Belichick is a no body.

100% accurate.    We saw what he could do without Tom Brady in Cleveland.

The dynasty that was is dying. It takes more than a legendary HC and an elite QB to win the Lombardi. The Patriots are beatable and Belichick can't stand it. I thought he was tougher than that.

do you know any head coach that can stand losing an important game? if so, I predict he won't keep his job very long.

Takes more than a HC to make a franchise successful.

ravens haven't been to the SB in 12+ years - when Suggs and Co do what the Pats have done, I'll listen to what he has to say.

I don't care for Billichick or any coaches of such ilk by the same token the Ravens with their totally excused ( avoided accessory to  murder charges) Lewis being made into a feel good story is repugnant as well.   When  liars, cheats, criminals are given a free pass the sport football really carries a horrible taint.

I really think the spirit of the game is being corrupted with some of the procedures in the way the game is being played.   The NFL needs to take a long look at the way the game is being played at this time...

Same could be said of any great coach/QB combination

I hate the "they haven't won since Spygate" argument.

The Patriots fielded the greatest team in the history of professional football after Spygate.  They went 18-1, redefined every scoring record, and lost the Super Bowl on the flukiest play in the history of sports championships.  Video cameras didn't win them all those Super Bowls; Asante Samuel not dropping easy interceptions did.  Rodney Harrison not allowing ridiculous ball-to-helmet completions did.  The most dominant tight end in history out-muscling an undrafted linebacker forty yards down the field did.  Belichick, in my opinion, has an equally impressive body of work post-Spygate, minus a handful of plays here-or-there.

They haven't won anything after Adam Vinatieri left
