What if Gruden comes back next year to coach in the NFL.  The team he inherits owns a desperate situation at QB.  Freeman leaves for the new Gruden led team, and they win the Superbowl.

Wouldn't happen. Gruden loves old veteran QBs.

I am sure he is willing to coach a fifth year prospect such as Josh Freeman.  C'mon man. :-\

Freeman is an old veteran QB.   He's been a starter for 4 seasons.   That's a veteran.

I could see it happening only because of Gruden.

I thought Lovie said he wanted quickness & speed, even at the QB position?

He'll only be 26 then. He will need another 10 years. Then he will be ready. :)

If Gruden is really such a great coach, he should take over in NE. They could not get ovet the hump since '04, did not win a single SB without filming the other teams defensive signals.

I doubt he takes Freeman over Brady, atleast not until Freeman has retired, then Gruden might throw a few picks at the team holding his rights..
Although i have the feeling Grudens offense is outdated. Shotgun, up tempo, multiple WR set were not part of his genius offensive plan. The Pats prolly get off two plays in the time Gruden is able to read out his play.

Interesting thing about the Cowboys situation....if Gruden were to take over and decided not to stick with Romo, the Cowboys can void the last few years of his contract once the '13 season is over. They could go out and waste more $ and years on another QB who can't get it done when it matters most. Freeman being the Cowboys QB just means more years of misery for that franchise. Fine with me, better them than us.

Why so?  Will he be getting a better offer elsewhere?

I think Luke McCown is more of a Gruden QB.
