Anquan Boldin | BAL (January 31, 2013 4:30 PM EST) ESPN's Adam Schefter stated on NFL Live Thursday that the Ravens may "very well" end up releasing Anquan Boldin after the Super Bowl.

Per Schefter, the Ravens are $5 million over the projected 2013 salary cap, "and that's before they get a deal done with Joe Flacco." Franchise tagging Flacco would put them roughly $20 million over the cap. Cutting Boldin would save Baltimore about $5.5 million. Although it's not a move the Ravens would like to make, "financial pressures" may force them to. Schefter added that releasing Jacoby Jones could free up another $3.5 million.

no question we go and get him. hes a great player in the slot and bridges us til we can draft a young slot receiver. hes still got a couple more years in the tank plus he brings a veteran presence to the team

He runs slower than Joe Flacco at this point in his career. Hell no.

What is your point? I was wrong? Ok. You win. I was wrong.

"Let's sign Joe Flacco to a huge, long-term deal, and then cut all of his receivers!"

Dude is a ballhawk, a beast.  Not so sure he fits in here, but still a helluva WR.

\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"

For the right price, yes.

I would take him over Wes Welker, that's for sure.

He has never had speed. Legend has it he clocked a 4.7 at the combine then came out and caught 18 passes..... In his first NFL game.

This article seems to suggest they may cut Jones instead, or as well.. That's who I would sign.  He's what a coach imagines when you say slot receiver. He would also give us a return game. I like Boldin but he's to similar to Williams and Jackson, big physical receivers who can go and get it.

underwood is fast but runs garbage routes and drops the ball. is his speed helping us? not really

have you watched boldin at all? he doesnt need speed, he gets himself open and catches the ball. the guy is good for 10 yards a pop. weve got Vjax for deep speed, we need a guy like boldin to open up the middle of the field.

He was always slow , I agree. The problem is now he is even slower , and old.

Very very old.. dude's going to hit the wall any day now. Look elsewhere.
