Super Bowl XLVIII: Early Odds for 2014 Super Bowl

 January 23, 2013   ·

By Eric Schmidt

The 2013 Super Bowl has not been played yet, but Las Vegas has already issued the odds for next year’s Super Bowl. The 2014 Super Bowl is going to be played at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey next season on February 2, 2014. According to Pregame.com. the New England Patriots are the early favorites for next year’s big game.

As expected, there is some interesting value to be had in some of the odds for next season. The Oakland Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars are the longshots to reach the big game next season coming in at 150:1. The Tennessee Titans, Buffalo Bills and Arizona Cardinals all come in at 100:1.

In what has to be considered a bit of a shock, the Baltimore Ravens, playing in this year’s Super Bowl, come in at 20:1 with nine teams with better odds above them. The San Francisco 49ers have the second best odds at 8:1 along with the Denver Broncos.

I think one of the better values on the board are the Seattle Seahawks that come in at 10:1.

We shouldn't be that low..... But we strive when we are underdogs so it doesn't really matter im used to being underdogs at this point

Well that's the teaser, so put your money down now.  If your right that number will go up, if we play better.

Can someone explain this to me. I never understood how this works.

As an example, lets say I put money on the jags at 150 to 1 today, and they somehow have an amazing, miraculous offseason and their odds go way up. Does my bet at 150 to 1 still stand?

Youngone, yes, your odds still stand no matter where the line goes.  It will be on your ticket when you make the bet.

“There is going to be a Buccaneer way and they’re going to be Buccaneer men.’’
“There are 1,440 minutes in a day. What you make of them, that’s going to determine our success.’’

Bucs should be ahead of the Jets.  And not sure about Carolina being that high, but they did finish the season strong.

\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"
