Well I don't know about his experience coaching special teams but the guy is a great coach. He might not be a great head coach...but he's a great defensive mind and if he can help the special teams and be another coach that could help out on the D a bit...I am all for it. I could also see him being promoted to D-Coordinator in 2014 if our D doesn't improve next year.

Whoa...shiver me ****in timbers!

Greg Schiano was an assistant under Wannstedt at the bears in 96-98

Ah, there had to be a connection. Like it!

LOL; this year the Bucs are leaving a trail of misinformation regarding hiring/firing of assistants; first Melvin "fired", then not. Then Paul Ferraro hired, then not... Can't wait for the flood of misinformation before/during the draft!  ;D

Out of left field, but I love that they brought in a guy with so much nfl experience.

He stinks as a head coach, but he is very good as a D coordinator or ST coach.

I've never heard of him coaching special teams so who know, this could be a good hire.
At least it puts a guy on staff that Schiano has ties with that has been a DC (with results varying from fairly bad to pretty good) if they decide to dump Sheridan.
He's got ties to Bryan Cox also from when Bryan played for the Bears in 96-97, having a coaching staff with previous relationships can't be a bad thing.
