David and Kuechly play different positions.   Picking David has nothing to do with Kuechly.   Kuechly would have replaced a very poor linebacker named Foster and would have been the leader the Bucs D sorely needed.

Thats why included the word 'Foster' in my post. But thanks for your opinion about poor LBs and leaders called Kuechly.

I only watched keuchly when the bucs played him, but he didn't impress me in the least bit. Dougie snagged a pass right over top of him in the first meeting, and Dj Ware completely trucked him in the second.

That is because, like Ruud he makes a lot of tackles yards after contact.

Kuechly is the guy the Bucs could have taken in the first round and didn't.   They took loser Barron instead.   Anyone who thinks that was a good move is nothing but a liar homer.

The Panthers will tire of those many 5 yards after contact tackles.  They will wish they drafted David when they had the chance who drops people on contact for lost yardage.

Honestly, I would have selected any of the other finalists over Kuechly for the award. The only thing he had was tackle numbers, and nearly half of them were assists. Most were several yards downfield as well. I don't think there's a single game impacting play he made the entire year honestly. Can think of plenty for David, Wagner, Jenkins and Heyward over the season. But hey, congrats to him.

Young Java if this was a Panther site, you would be bashing Rivera for not having a winning record, and crowning the Bucs as being on the right track with Schiano, and complaining about not drafting David.  Predictable.

I'll make that call a week or two before the draft.    I really should be the Bucs GM though.

We can agree to disagree. Ruud was very good here for a few years and made a ton of tackles downfield. So does Kuechly. When the tfls improve for Kuechly Il'll change my mind.  Not sure it will..
