I think he would be a upgrade over Underwood. He's 30 (time flies) and should be relatively cheap.

I would take him if we can't get a slot guy/ returner in the draft , like Marquise Goodwin or Stedman Bailey.

Hester is an awful WR, even Underwood is better than him.

Bears never should have moved him to offense.

I think he actually would have been an amazing free safety. He played it quite a bit in his last year at Miami, showed great range and good ball skills. Probably would never have been an excellent tackler, but his playmaking would make up for it. He certainly had the athleticism to play WR, but not the hands or the savvy. If he was going to play offense, it should have been RB, where there is less thinking and more instincts/reaction.

Hester is a god awful WR, Underwood is leaps and bounds better at the position.

He should've been in the Darren Sproles role. He just doesn't fit as a WR.

I could also have seen him stay on defense, playing FS in the centerfield role. That much speed covering deep would be a huge asset. His tackling would be a major liability though.

I'd bring him in a a return man/special package player. Draft a slot guy in the third or fourth.

All he has is his speed.  And IIRC he is 30 now?  Just about the time the speed goes south.  Pass

\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"

Why does someone always have to start a thread about any player that is available or suggests he wants a new team? Hester is not an upgrade. Take Swo.pe in the 4th and you have your slot guy. And I am hoping we finally get to see Michael Smith returning kicks.

Would rather have Boldin in the slot.  Hell, line him up next to the tackle and let him abuse linebackers.  As long as #5 can get the damn ball there...

Devin Hester is borderline retarded... he is one of the dumbest guys in the NFL... Thus why he couldn't play defense.  He couldn't understand it and that's why he he got taken off D.   He was a great return man but the past two years he has been awful at that too.   Still would rather have him returning kicks than anyone else on this roster.

If we could get him cheap as simply a return man, then yes.  But he's not going to go cheap.
