The Bucs have officially hired assistant coaches Tony Oden (DBs), Dave Wannstedt (ST), John Garrett (WRs), John McNulty (QBs) and Robb Smith (LBs). Oden will specialize in cornerbacks, while holdover assistant DBs coach Jeff Hafley will continue to specialize in working with the safeties.

Former linebackers coach Bob Fraser has been promoted to assistant defensive coordinator and will work more closely with defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan. Fraser was a former defensive coordinator at Rutgers and has extensive knowledge of Greg Schiano's defense.

Also, Bryan Cox's title has been switched from front-7 coach to pass rush specialist.

Sounds like Sheridan is on the hot seat

It's appropriate, after allowing 6,000 yards and 400 points in 16 games.  Our opponents averaged 380 yards and 25 points against us; in 2002, one team (the Vikings) broke 380 yards, and one team (the Saints) broke 25 points -- and New Orleans needed defensive score in overtime to do it.

Man, what a defense that was.

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it. But this does seem like a hint that he may actually be in trouble with the organization

Yep, another guy who doesn't have to learn everything from scratch. Another guy Schiano doesn't have to learn about his abilities. Football is football, and a good coach is a good coach. There is enough NFL experience on this staff to compensate  for the newbies.

Older, experienced guys sharing ideas with younger up-and-rising guys is nothing but good!  Competition among coaches as well as players; LIKE it!!

I wonder if that was Adam [who complained], I doubt it, but anything is possible considering what happened between him and Brian Cox.

The Times article in the actual print newspaper says something about another Rutgers Schiano Crony hired.  It seems pretty derogatory.
