It can be a result of a multitude of factors. There's no doubt that the receivers did not perform at the same level in 2011 that they did in 2010. Other teams game planned better for Josh last year. He also did not take advantage of his scrambling ability last year like he did in 2010...whether that was by his choice or because he was told not to run...we don't know. There were several games where I saw running lanes available for him and he would throw the ball instead...I'm sure I'm not the only one that was screaming at him to run the darn ball. It seemed like he felt the pressure to carry the team because we abandoned the running game so quickly...sometimes because we were so far behind so quickly...other times for no rational reason. Does he need to take better care of the ball? Hell yeah. I'm betting no one knows that more than he does. But the young man has a strong arm...he seems bright, good work ethic...competitive...I am optimistic about his future, and believe it would be a huge mistake for us to give up on him at this point. Not sure what to expect this coming year....new coach, new system...so I think we have to give him 2-3 years before we can make a realistic assessment of whether he's the guy. With all the needs we have this year, it would be foolish to give up additional picks to move up in the draft to take RG3..when there's no guarantee he's going to be successful in the NFL either.
Well one good thing about all these "elite" bumps is that it puts to rest the lie being claimed by the Freepologists that anyone who criticizes Josh has hated him all along.
Your right, they are just overreacting fan girls.
