Geno Smith named the starter - Revis' first victim of 2013.

Go get Bridgewater.   Do what it takes.

From PFT:

Quote
The Jets did what they had to do this week, and what they probably needed to do all along.

The team announced that rookie quarterback Geno Smith would start this week, which was kind of obvious given the condition of Mark Sanchez’s shoulder — unless Brady Quinn was going to make a late run at the job.

The anticlimactic nature of the announcement doesn’t hide the fact this is a major shift for the team, as it seems going away from their former first-round pick was the intent of an awkward offseason.

But if Smith can play acceptably well against the Buccaneers, and in Week Two against the Patriots, he’ll probably have a long chance to make the job his own, and grow into it, regardless Sanchez’s condition.

Whether that’s a fair chance, given their scarcity of offensive playmakers, remains to be seen.

I'm calling a Revis pick six in this game, and an LJ INT. I think Banks has 3 PBU.

Brian Leonard will vulture a touchdown. Revis makes Geno look like a child.

It seems like just yesterday people were saying Sanchez was better than Freeman

EDIT: Not sayingi think Freeman is Peyton Manning, but good god Sanchez has fallen far.

Also, I expect Revis to have a moderately quiet game Sunday. Doesn't get beat, doesn't give up TD, doesn't pick6 - all quiet on Revis Island.

"It seems like just yesterday that both Sanchez and Freeman were starting QBs in the NFL"

Hell, brees might not be as accurate as manziel.

I think they are pretty close. Not sure who sucks more. Jets never have any receivers so it is hard to say how awful Sanchez really is. Without looking it up, look at these two columns and tell me which is Freeman and which is Sanchez.

Passing yard  12092    12963
Total TDs             80          82
Interceptions        69          63
Fumbles               42          36
Completion %       55          58
QB rating              72          79
Sacked                126        103
20+ yard pass     152        161
40+ yard pass       25          30

Draft Aaron Donald

I would say left is Sanchez. With Freeman having that one really good really INT wise. Also Sanchez completion rating has never been above 60%.

lol@'not sure who sucks more?' Its not like one guy is simply better in every single category, right?
So now a 7 point difference in QBR is 'pretty close'. So Flacco, Eli, Dalton, Stafford and Freeman  are all 'pretty close' too? Then, who is really better than Freeman? He is 'pretty close' to SB winning QBs, at the age of 24, and we rather let him walk for nothing and rather use a 1st rounder(and maybe more in case of a  trade up) on an unproven QB prospect?

All their numbers are eerily similar. Only real difference is a butt fumble.... And Sanchez has been to the post season.

You kinda sold Freeman short by not rounding up his #s. But you rounded up Sanchez #s.

Lol, its funny when someone has an agenda and does their best to fudge numbers.  This is getting old.
