Trufant and Elam are early second rounders, IMO.

With Trufant possibly going as high as mid first round and Elam possibly sneaking into the bottom of the first (Patriots or Ravens)

just curious about your offseason.  are you suggesting trufant with our 2nd pick, badger with our 3rd and elam with our 4th?

Yes they easily are all first rounders. Elam may not make it, but good chance he does. Not honey badger, but pass on that fool anyways.

Getting Ansah and Trufant will require giving up several picks.

Also, Elam is best suited as a SS...and we already drafted a guy to hesitantly play that position.

the way I see it, we have 2 4th round picks...which can easily be used to get back into the first round like last year. Only thing we need is a partner. Elam competes with Black at the FS spot. Smith starts opposite of Wright, Trufant in the slot and Mathieu as our dime back and kick returner.

Good God, I hope Wright is gone. Dude is terrible and a waste of $7+ mil.

You want to keep Wright and draft Mathieu? Wtf...

Wright is horrible and the odds of Mathieu staying on the field is very slim.

Trufant and Elam are borderline 1st rounders at least. Both will be gone by the time our 2nd pick comes around. So your scenario is a dream

Trufant will see a Stephon Gilmore-like rise that we saw last year. He had a good senior bowl and a good combine and he looks good n tape according to several scouts. If we don't end up taking him at #13, I would doubt that he is still around when pick #20 rolls around.

to build off this thread.

re-sign bennett, miller, and possibly biggers.
sign derek smith, leodis mckelvin, louis delmas, martellus bennett, shonn greene, david nelson,

trade #13 for #31 & #34.

1 - marcus trufant
2 - matt elam
2 - barrett jones/menelik watson/kyle long
3 - brandon williams
4 - travis kelce
4 - used to secure trufant
5 - tj moe
6 - connor vernon
7 - lonnie pryor

big trade which isnt very realistic but oh well.  we dont get a top end CB, but is there a realistic one?  we get upgrades.  most will hate the elam pick because his similarity to barron, but this allows us to play a big nickel package often with guys that arent known for coverage, but should be able to do it and be very physical.   OL upgrade.  DL depth.  versatility at TE.  complete overhaul at WR with hardworking blue collar guys.  complete backups at RB who can pound the rock.  wanted to try to fit in swearinger/phil thomas in case delmas is injured again, toss up between brandon williams at 3.

no huge pickups but very active.  good bloodlines with trufant and kelce.  i think a lot of captains.
