Lot of people worried about the Glazers' money . . that's nice

No silly, they are worried about the cap. Bucs are only 30 gazillion under now thanks to Goldson.

Nice that Goldson has only a one year deal so he has zero cap effect next year and beyond....oh wait, what is that you say, multi-year deal?

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.

Do we judge players by the contract or what they do on the field? Can someone clear that up for me.

Both. A guy getting $1m doing the same thing on the field as a guy getting $10m are going to be judged differently.

IMO....we got a really good SS with sub par coverage skills for a FS. He has some ball skills and lays the wood, so I'm expecting some splash plays mixed in with some blown coverage plays. With Revis and Wright or a top 1st or 2nd round CB it should be a top 15 secondary.

He's an above average safety who is good at the line, a half field guy but not a deep centerfielder. He's not elite, he's not a difference maker. He was a cog in a great defense. We overpaid for his services.

I like Goldson...but this is closer to reality than some here will openly admit/accept.

I actually watched quite a few 49ers games last year. Goldson is a big hitter. The likes of which we have not had since the days of John Lynch. He played at a very high level last year, easily one of the best in the NFL. He did not look as good in the playoffs. There were a few bad coverages where he may have missed his assignment (it's hard to tell from my seat on the couch who blew the coverages) but this does not discourage me at all.

WR's will be terrified of coming across the middle of the field. IMO he will be a huge asset to the defense.
