honestly, Revis would have given us 4 additional wins last year. it wasn't Freeman holding us back against the Giants, Redskins, both Saints games, and the Eagles.

BWAHAHAHA, for starters, Freeman was horrendous in the 2nd Saints game...and how did he play for 3 qtrs in the Eagles game?!

SMH

For starters? Smh. He played well enough to have the team in a position to win the Eagles game, and the second Saints game was a horrendous effort by everyone, do that excuse the defense too? Nobody said Freeman carried the team on any of the wins or that he is perfect. He's going to have bad games, just about every Qb does, but please don't excuse THE WORST PASS DEFENSE in the league last season and say it was Freeman who held the team back, smh.

Freeman has been surrounded by one of the best rosters in the league, he can't hold this team back this year.

Was there a year Freeman held back the team?

Last year he absolutely held back this team. Look at him in the first 10 games, then look at him in the 5 game losing streak that followed those. Completely different player. From 6-4 to 6-9 is something no QB in the NFL should be leading his team to.

I'm sure the second worst pass defense in NFL history had NOTHING to do with those 5 losses... ???

Of course it did, but look at Freeman over those 5 games:

5 TDs

9 INTs

Comp %: 63.3, 46.2, 41.2, 55.3, 55.6

QBR: 76.6, 50.7, 45.9, 11.0 (seriously?), 8.9 (again, seriously?)

Rating: 90.4, 72.8, 79.2, 37.5, 52.4

But hey, let's keep asserting that Freeman didn't hold this team back and wasn't a MAJOR issue in this team's 7-9 record last season!!!

As for the Saints game, yes, the team was terrible, but Freeman held them back and gave the team ZERO chance to win considering he was horrendous.

So you think a QB who averages more than 1 turnover a week is acceptable in the NFL? You don't think these picks had no effect on the defense and that they should have just bailed his ass out every time?

Freeman can take us where we want to go, but he needs to step his **CENSORED** up. We all know he can be the best QB on any given week but he needs to start being consistent. This is year 5 coming up, the growth period is over.

He had 9 total turnovers in the first 13 games. You guys are so consumed by those 2 games vs the Saints and Rams when the season was OVER.

First 7 losses, Freeman had 7.33 YPA  (12th best in league), 11 TDs, 5 INTs

Defense gave up 422 yards per game with FOUR blown 4th qtr leads

For reference, 422 yards per game would have been #31 for season.

the blame for 2012 was solely on the defence, we alomst lost a game in which doug martin ran over 250yds, freeman threw for another 250 with 2 TDs and no INTs and we were up by 35 at one point. that game was just an example like the giants game like the redskins game like a few more that the offence put us in a position to win and the defence choked. healthy Clayborne, added revis and gholston will make a huge huge difference going into the seaosn.

This is exactly why I'm saying only Freeman can **CENSORED** this up. Those type of losses should no longer be happening, and if this team is going to continue to lose games they have no business losing, defense more than likely not going to be the reason for it.

What did you just duck and miss the point he threw at you? We are clearly showing that the defense damn near lost us games where Freeman played great. He didn't old us back last year, so why would he this year? Basically, I'm saying even with his poor games we were in position to win games last season if not for a horrible passing defense. i'll take Freeman's up and down play and top 10 offense with a much improved defense and what us play much better all around football and possibly go to the playoffs this year.

We do not even win most of the games when our offense plays good, but we lose every single game, in which our offense struggles, because of our horrible defense. How many games did we have won DESPITE Freeman?

How hard is this?

Freeman held this team back when he had that stretch of games where he stunk it up, as well as a few other spots during the year.

Pass D held the team back most of the year.

Pass D is being addressed. Hope pass rush gets some help, too.

Freeman? We'll see. Loved what I saw from him in major stretches last year. Just needs more of it.

So, in conclusion, the last 2 losses and terrible games by Freeman are meaningless correct? And he played fine in the Denver and Philly games correct? Oh yea, he was stellar in that Cowboys game too right?

Of all the clowns on here who defend Freeman like he's your daddy, you're the worst. Now it didn't matter that Freeman had bad games because the "SEASON WAS OVER!!!"

How do you hold back what is already a horrible effort? So the entire teams plays horrible...and Freeman holds them back?  Wha?

Teams don't win games in spite of bad QB play unless they have a great defense.

Again, this team was 6-4 w/this same consistently bad defense because Freeman was playing well. He tanked and so did the team...go figure.

So in a sense Freeman actually carried the team over that same 10 game stretch? I mean if you gonna hold him soley responsible for a 5 games stretch of losses, don't you have to do the opposite while he was playing well?

Tell you what, give me Freeman who lead the team well in 11 outta 16 games (given the 5 where he held the team back, smh) and a solid defense and we're going to be very good.

Freeman didn't hold this team back last season? Ignorance at its finest!!!

Either way, he's 24-34 in his career as a starter, but hey, let's just hold onto the excuse it's simply because the team was bad, has nothing to do w/his inconsistent play!!!
Surely his inconsistent play is an issue.  And surely he spent a good portion of his first 4 years wondering when some help might arrive.  For instance, last year the pass defense wasn't a strong point for the buccaneers.  Good to see you.

I think Freeman held up the teams success but it was also the secondary. We all know Freeman isnt an elite QB. He never will be. He cant overcome a teams deficiencies and win anyways. But now that we have a solid team around him. He can afford to have a three and out here or there. The defense may be able to stop the offense from scoring now. He can throw an int and the defense may be able to bail him out. But lets not get used to that. Lets hope Freeman has learned from his mistakes and wont make as many. I think now the defense is better he will take more shots. Theres not as much pressure on him to score a **CENSORED** load of points. But lets hope they still do!

It was over. We were in 10th place and needed 2 teams to lose out and had to jump over 2 other ones. Nobody got on the plane to New Orleans to win.

And yea we're the clowns and we're the worst, not the people are trying to run another QB out of town.
