Here is a snapshot of the roster projection back in March.

http://www.pewterreport.com/Boards/index.php/topic,1304186.msg1892803.html#msg1892803

Here is a new roster projection:

QB: Josh Freeman, Dan Orvlosky, Mike Glennon
RB: Doug Martin,  Brian Leoarnd, Jeff Demps
FB: Erik Lorig
TE: Luke Stocker, Tom Crabtree, Danny Noble,
WR: Vincent Jackson, Mike Williams, Tiquan Underwood, Kevin Olgetree, David Douglas
OT: Donald Penn, Demar Dotson, Jamon Meredith
OG: Davin Joseph, Carl Nicks, Desmond Wynn, Roger Allen
OC: Jeremy Zuttah, Ted Larsen, Cody Wallace

DE: Da'Quan Bowers, Adrian Clayborn, Daniel Te'o Nesheim, Markus White
DT: Gerald McCoy, Gary Gibson, Akeem Spence, Derek Landri
LB: Lavonte David, Mason Foster, Adam Heyward, Dekoda Watson, Jonathan Casillas, Jacob Cutrera
CB:Darelle Revis, Jonthan Banks, Eric Wright, Anthony Gaiter, Leonard Johnson, Danny Gorrer
S: Mark Barron, Dashon Goldson,  Cody Grimm, Ahmad Black, Sean Baker

K: Connor Barth
P: Michael Koenen
LS: A. Economos

Lets take a look at this roster compositions:

QB: Freeman has the #1 spot locked down and Orvlosky has the #2 spot locked down. Glennon is a project with upside, and realistically will not be ready to seriously compete for the #2 or #1 job this year given he simply has to learn the offense and he is behind half an off season already.

RB: I am not convinced Demps has his heart set on football but if he does he will clearly win the the #3 or #4 RB spot as he is also a special teams returner.  I believe the Bucs will carry 3 RB's max on the team and an extra one on PS.  The Bucs are limited with their roster flexibility as they have to keep Glennon on the roster since he was drafted so high and too risky to put on the PS so the cascading effect is the Bucs have to make tougher choices down the line.

FB: Lorig has this locked down without a doubt.

WR: The top two guys have it locked down (Williams and Jackson) but the rest of it is a messy stratification and anyone can emerge.  I wouldn't be surprised if one of the recent FA picks up sneaks onto the roster (Eric Page or Steve Smith).

TE: Top two guys are locks (Crabtree and Stocker) with the last spot or two pretty much a toss up.  I like Noble's upside better, and Lorig is more of an H back anyways than a true FB.

OT: These three are pretty much locks (Penn, Dotson, Meredith) given two of them are starters and one of them plays multiple spots on the line. Fourth OT probably will be on the PS just in case of an emergency.

OG: Top two are locks (Joseph and Nicks) and the last spot or two is a toss up.

OC: Zuttah and Larsen are locks with Wallace I believe the favorite to make the roster.

DE: Top three are locks and I haven't seen any player the Bucs added to change my mind on that (Bower, Clayborn, Te'o Nesheim).  Fourth spot is up for grabs but I like Markus White's upside for that last spot.

DT: McCoy is a lock as well as Gibson.  Gibson is the default starter at NT unless Akeem Spence make it interesting.  Landri has the #4 spot all but locked up.

LB: Three are locks (Hayward, Foster, and David) but the rest is anybodies guess.  I like Casillas, Cutrera and Watson to round out the depth at LB as it is a good mix.

CB:  Revis and Banks are locks, and I believe Banks will emerge as the #2 opposite of Revis.  Wright wil compete with Gorrer, Johnson and Gaitor for nickle duty.

S: Goldshon and Barron are locks with Black, Baker, and Grimm as the backups.

Barth, Economos, and Koenen...they make the team.

*I do not have Tandy or Goode making the roster.
*You can make a case for some of the 2013 draft class to make the roster,at LB and DL but I am not convinced they can beat out the more established players.
*The roster hasn't change a lot since the last snapshot.  The two areas that have changed drastically: CB (Revis and Banks) and DT (Spence and Landri). Offense remains unchanged for the most part in comparison.
*Weak areas depth wise still are: WR, OT, TE, RB, DE.

Overall based on this roster this should be a 9-7 team.

How is Demps going to win a roster spot if he is not in camp?  I seriously doubt Schiano is going to let some guy that's never proven himself at this level and doesn't know the offense or STs to prance on in after the season has started and given a role.  Morris maybe.  Schiano, hell no!  He will be just like Belichick in that regard and I can't blame him.  Who does Demps think he is, Bo Jackson?

The track season runs from march to August.  Football ain't happening for him on a part time basis.

James will make the roster...

Who knew how good it would feel as a fan when we now know what it\'s like for our team to have a direction, an attitude, and dare I say an offense?.

Good time to be a Bucs fan.

Is there any chance Bucs give Glennon 2nd string and Orlovsky 3rd string?

there should be some real good position battles in camp.

TE - bynam, noble, dunsmore, landi for a spot.
DE - teo nesh, morgan, selvie, gholston, white, and means for a couple spots.
CB - lots of names.
WR - will ogletree, smith, page give us anything?

Doubt it as Glennon has yet to learn the playbook and May is around the corner.

They may make the PS, but they will have a hard time making the roster.

My thoughts on your prediction:

1) Glennon will be a quick study and Orlovsky will be cut...lots of teams in the league have rookie quarterbacks at #2...Why waste a valuable spot for Orlovsky?  He is awful....
2) We will not go with 10 offensive lineman...at the most 9 or 8 on the 53-player roster
3) Michael James will make the roster...Can catch, block and run...If Demps decides to play, it will be as return specialist.
4) Most overlooked depth issue is at receiver...I guess we could go with 5 or 6 but it will interesting to see what we do with the position in camp.
5) I see both Gholston and Means making this roster.  Besides Greg Cosell, both Kiper and McShay were praising the pick-up of Means.
6) I do not see Grimm making this roster... We will not go with 5 safeties
7) I think Goode makes this roster as well...

1. Glennon will be groomed to eventually take over the #2 spot but not this year.  The Giants drafted Nassib to eventually replace Carr as the #2, but for now he will be the #3 so I see a similiar thinking from the Bucs organization on this.

2. I think there is a chance that they carry that many OL given the injury history of Davin Joseph and Meredith is more of a backup at OT which leaves interior depth thin.

3. I don't think James makes the roster but I can see an undrafted free agent winning that last spot at RB.

4. Yes it is an overlooked depth issue and I assume they pick up a waiver wire player down the line.

5. Gholston and Means are directly competing for a roster spot on the DL so one of them will not make it.  I believe neither one will make it to be honest, but we shall see, and even more so if the Bucs sign a veteran DE that is out there still in free agency.

6. It is possible that Grimm doesn't make the roster and the Bucs choose to carry an extra CB, or LB but special teams is what I look at as well.  Tandy could make the roster if he shows enough versatility.

7. Goode hasn't shown anything on tape to warrant making the roster.  Casillas is a veteran that can play WILL in a pince with AH playing all three LB spots and Watson possibly winning the spot at SAM.  Cutrera is a special teams guy so don't see any room for Goode.

I have the team keeping 2 QB's, 4 TE's, 4 RB's - I think means takes over for Watson as a special teamer and edge rusher - Gholston beats out White - Goode sticks - and Tandy makes the roster.

Watson has had three years to develop - and after the Quincy Black injury his snaps were drastically reduced - over the last seven games he barely saw the field. That is not a good sign. Means was drafted to battle Watson -  Casillas will be the back-up will - Hayward will be the base package SAM - unless Casillas beats him out - Goode will back-up Foster and Cutrera will be the emergency player and special teamer.
