I actually think Goode could start at Sam.  I think the loser of the Watson haywire battle as a back up LB could be cut.  The Sam battle is going to be interesting.  Also, we should not count out owasu at WR.  My biggest fear is depth at OT.  Also, when projecting the 53, i think it is important to look at what they have historically done at positions.  No way they do not keep 9 DL with 3 of our starting 4 having major injuries in the past two years.

Watson has had three years to develop - and after the Quincy Black injury his snaps were drastically reduced - over the last seven games he barely saw the field. That is not a good sign. Means was drafted to battle Watson -  Casillas will be the back-up will - Hayward will be the base package SAM - unless Casillas beats him out - Goode will back-up Foster and Cutrera will be the emergency player and special teamer.

Schiano said that Means will play DE, so he is competing with Gholston for a roster spot.  Gholston has the edge if he can kick on the inside in passing situations.

As for Goode, he has cement in his shoes so unless that changes he doesn't stand a good chance of making the roster this year.

I agree with Yucc in Gholston, Means, Najee Goode, 4 RB's, and two QB's.

But I wouldn't count out Dekoda Watson as he was the 2nd LB in our 3-2 dime package after Black went out.  And after last pre-season, no way will I count out Sean Baker.

Its going to look to some people like a different play every time we use it, but pretty soon theyll be able to recognize it....by watching the official for the first-down signal.   -Vincent T. Lombardi

Yeah Baker pretty much outplayed all the defensive backs in pre season and it will be interesting to see an off season of extra work will do for him.

I would move Nate Byham up,why..1st he played special teams and Te under Dave W, for 4 yrs, and  Te. under Te coach Ang for 4 yrs at Pitt, and has 1 yr  NFL experience with 49ers and a yr with TB..It has been  2 yrs since his ACL surgery and is now physically ready.. and is the best Te blocker on the team.

Is underwood under contract?

Who knew how good it would feel as a fan when we now know what it\'s like for our team to have a direction, an attitude, and dare I say an offense?.

Good time to be a Bucs fan.

Rashaan Melvin has to make team.. He'll beat out Gaitor who's always hurt.

And honestly I'll take Aaron Morgan over DTN if he's healthy.

a couple days ago you said Means was playing OLB. The problem is both are right.  Watson is a OLB used as a pass rush and a special teams guy. Means is competing for that spot

I think Ogletree has experience returning kicks.

PR was reporting that Means will be playing LB while Schanio says otherwise. Regardless he doesn't have much of a chance to make the roster, but since Goode made the roster when he didn't earn it last season nothing surprises me anymore with Rutgers.

Grimm isn't a lock as Tandy could make it over him.  I really like Baker over Grimm though.
