This doesn't smell right to me. Anything this public is almost assuredly planned. How did this story break originally? Why would the IRS freely offer up details on its "illegal" practices? Something is fishy in Denmark.

Strictly for show. The guy was scheduled to leave in June anyway. Just Obama trying to fool people into believing he actually took some action.

This Administration has already demonstrated that it thinks we are all stupid. Problem is that this time the press are pissed off because of what it did to AP, so it looks like they (the press) might not be so complicit in the narrative this time and a rocky road may be ahead.

Who is the fat lady siting behind Lois Lerner's right shoulder - shaking her head and smiling when Lerner takes the fifth. Get her out of there.....LMAO.

Transparency .  And to think she's made over $700,000 over the last 4 years curtesy of us tax payers.

I heard O'Reilly give out that tidbit. She probably would make that a year if she worked in the private sector. Many of our gov't employees, especially higher ranking ones take a pay cut to work in the civil sector.   Hard to get good people to take the job when they can make more with corporations.

This who 501(c)(3) issue is just one of the many problems of our tax system. The same grandstanding politicians at Congress should look in the mirror and ask why they are doing to make our tax system simpler.

We need the IRS to seek out these so-called groups seeking tax-exempt status and make sure they're abiding by the rules. Unfortunately, they appear to be biased in which groups they're focusing on (teabaggers).

That used to be the case, but not now. Govt workers on average earn more than in the private sector, get better benefits and a guaranteed pension.

High level positions in the Federal Gov't could easily make more money in the civilian sector.

For O'Reilly to whine about what our IRS deputies make is hypocritical on his part. He make $20 mil/year himself.

Very few could.  You think these people are working for the IRS out of civil duty?

Is O'Reilly paid by taxpayer dollars?  So where is the hypocrisy?

And O'Reilly and his wallet appreciates you viewership.

I agree with your first sentence but you are wrong on the second.

First how much does OReilly make for Fox?

Second, his point was that Lerner earns quite a nice living as a Public Servant, then to turn around and say screw you to the taxpayer, via Congress is arrogant and indicative of the mindset currently inhabiting the IRS (and other Govt Agencies I hasten to add). All while pissing on the same taxpayer who is affording her quite a nice living.

So you don't think Federal employees deserve to have the same Constitutional Rights as civilians because they're paid with taxpayer money?

That doesn't sound fair.

Nobody is saying she doesn't have the same rights and has to speak because she is paid with taxpayer dollars.  That's the strawman.

I would think that would be obvious.
