I was a legitimate question.
They spent the least amount of money on players from 2004-2011.  What would anyone think?
Sorry it doesn't support your POV.
the Bucs spent a ton of money in 2011.  they spent a ton of money in 2012.  and now theyve spent a ton of money in 2013.  you really gonna sit here and complain about 2010?  complain about not spending money in 2004?  wow.

Morgana had to clean a few too many bedpans today, it seems.

They didn't have free agency in 2004-2011?  That is where the bucs current quality is coming from at this point for most part.

My thought is that they were in cap hell towards the middle/end of the Gruden years. Then they were biding their time with Raheem until Gruden was off the books, while building through the draft - now a number of drafted players are showing real promise and they are supplementing the roster by adding exceptional players at areas of need.

I'm of the belief that free agency is used to compliment the core, not compensate for lack of one.

"Any insistence that the Glazer family is cheap or focused on Manchester United instead of the Buccaneers has been proven wrong for the second year in a row."

Actually, the theory was that the Glazers went cheap on the Bucs while they were having cash flow problems due to the purchase of ManU, and reinvested in the Bucs once those issues were resolved. This second year of spending doesn't refute that theory, it supports it.
correct me if I'm wrong but didnt they have to spend money the last two years due to the salary cap floor?

The Bucs spent a ton of money in free agency in 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2009, and the main reason they didn't spend in 2005 and 2006 was because of cap problems from spending so much money. The 2010 class was epically bad because of the lockout and so many players who would have normally been unrestricted free agents becoming restricted free agents stuck with their teams. 2011 was the only season the Bucs had money to spend, players to spend it on, and chose to sit out.

I'm of the belief that free agency is used to compliment the core, not compensate for lack of one.

This might be true for teams, that already have a core from good drafting, tight on cap space because of, and therfore just have 'access' to a very limited group of FAs able to improve their teams.

But when almost every FA is an upgrade to your team that thinks it has the luxery to let starters like Caddy and Ruud walk away(who are not could but would have been 'starters'), you are bleeding out and you will still feel the consequence of years later.

+1, i really thought we could get him here (for cheap) because of all that hype about that CB from OAK. But we did not spend at all.
