It's something that has been thoroughly discussed on this board. Why do we see Josh Freeman miss his WR by such a large margin at times? It may have more to do with the the WR in question than the 5th-year signal caller.

LOL! I hadn't finished listening to the audio clip before a caller phoned in and called Steve Duemig out. Duemig losses it and hangs up before he looks any stupider (he couldn't seem to recall who our head coach or QB was in 2009). Pretty funny stuff!

In most complicated offensive scemes the WRs are asked to read defenses.  We even ask our youth players to do this.  If they notice at the line of scrimage that the DB is playing deep/close we ask them to run a different route at their discretion and for the QB1 to notice this as well.  It has proven successful with some big plays for us the past few seasons.

Anything less than 16-0 and Freeman is gone.

FRG is the most logical poster on this board.  You guys just don\'t like where the logical conclusions take you.

I think most WRs in the NFL must have a general idea of what the defense is doing to have success.

It's easier just to put all the blame on Freeman though.

Seriously, Freeman is off on most of his throws wherehe is just staring at his target during the route, its simply because of his bad accuracy and inability to lead receiver in stride and not throw it too high or too low. Its been something I havent like about him since he came into the NFL and has nothing to do with any offense.

On a different note, its pretty evident that Freeman has never been the smartest QB out there, he's not as fast at processing whats going on and what to do like the elite QBs and young elites like Luck and RG3. Why are we making him run some sophisticated offense where both QB and apparently WRs have to make pre snap reads. This thing should have been simplified like I thoughy it was going to be based on Schianos first press conference. Also if we're not going to use Freeman like he was being used at Kansas where he had 14 rushing TDs is last year, then we shouldnt be using him at all. I hear people say "but he has so much talent." Talent at what exactly? This guy should have never been drafted in the first round, he wasn't even good in college and hes certainly not good in the Pros. The fact is Mike Glennon is a better QB.

Heres his college stats for anyone interested in what was so special about him that we decided to make him out franchise QB. http://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/josh-freeman-1.html

Looks to me like he was never worthy of a first round grade. Turns out he was awful at rushing, he only posted some positive rushing stats his last year. Had only one season with over 3000 yards, and only one season where he had a completion % above 60. career TD-int was 44-34. he had one horrible season, one average season, and one decent season lol and yet we drafted him in the first round and he has all the talent in the world..

Yeah, there aren't any other offenses in the NFL that require the WR's to read and react to what the defense is doing.  Freeman is only one.

You act like its something bad.

Covering up a mistake would be, ignoring the reason for, but the 'excuse' here explains why it might not have been a mistake by the QB, therefore ...ex causa. Or lets say prevent from unreasonable negative judgement.
