Revis, Schiano meet 15 minutes to “clear [the] air”

Posted by Mike Florio on September 17, 2013, 8:35 PM EDT

The backpedaling from Bucs cornerback Darrelle Revis is taking place both publicly and behind closed doors.

Revis took to Twitter to refute, sort of, the report that he’s frustrated with coach Greg Schiano — even if the message from Revis didn’t specifically mention Schiano or address the notion that Revis doesn’t like Schiano’s disciplinarian ways.

According to Andrea Kremer of NFL Network, who has interviewed Revis multiple times throughout his ACL rehab, Revis and Schiano also had a 15-minute meeting on Tuesday to “clear [the] air.”  Per Kremer, Revis claims he has no issues with the head coach.

That seems like a fairly long meeting to clear air that had no smoke.  The mere fact that a sit-down occurred shows that there was a reason for it.  Otherwise, Schiano wouldn’t have violated on game-planning day the mantra he recited during last week’s post-loss drama regarding Josh Freeman:  “The easiest way to be defeated is to be distracted.”

The Buccaneers currently have plenty of distractions.  The best way to start making them go away would be to avoid another defeat on Sunday against the Patriots.

BOOM!~

What did I say?

He didn't say anything specific, and he is displeased.  Damage control from the ace of spades.

BTW, he is on NFL network right now!

WATCH!

Too much drama around here.  This is ridiculous.  0-3 would be the nail in the coffin.   What a waste to bring in a college coach and spend all that money on free agents.  This vision is blurred.

If we go 0-4, 1-5, or worse 1-7, I look for the following announcement from 1 Buc Place:

"Now introducing interim coach........"

We won't fire Schiano during the season. If we didn't fire Raheem's worthless ass, Schiano will be here through the season. The Glazer boys don't make quick decisions, don't you guys remember the past 6 years? Or even how long it took us to get Gruden? Come on, man.

We didn't have former NFL head coaches on the staff with Rah. Big difference. Butch Davis or Wannstedt could fill in easily and probably calm things down immediately. But it will have to happen the Monday at the start of the bye week to keep the peace or boom, it's over. Lovie Smith is my first choice after the season however unless one of those two win 10 or 12 games, which ain't happening with Freesuck at QB.

This is our team and a disappointed fan base being manipulated by Florio and media.

Who knew how good it would feel as a fan when we now know what it\'s like for our team to have a direction, an attitude, and dare I say an offense?.

Good time to be a Bucs fan.

It's the Glazers. They probably won't even fire him until February.

Uh, dude, or dudette; Florio nor the fans nor the media required or asked Revis to have a closed door meeting with Schiano.

If you don't think this is significant, you're forgetting all the crap Dilfer stirred up here in the 90's.

Florio is a little weasel. Not sure what exactly his purpose in life is other than being a muckraker on all things NFL.

Or Revis could have gone in and assured Schiano that he was very happy to be in Tampa and to ignore reports that he wasn't. Maybe Schiano asked Revis for his thoughts on how to inspire the team and help Freeman perform better.

Maybe they traded oatmeal raisin cookie recipes.

Maybe they made out.

I can speculate too.

Seriously- what is the 'air'?   Media reports based on league sources?

This is not daytime TV.

Who knew how good it would feel as a fan when we now know what it\'s like for our team to have a direction, an attitude, and dare I say an offense?.

Good time to be a Bucs fan.
