Im kinda tired of hearing how talented this team is..

Bone head Penalties and Bone head mistakes cant always be blamed on coaching..

Pro Bowl players not getting the job done cant always be blamed on coaching..

missed tackles cant always be blamed on coaching.

Dropped passes cant be blamed on coaching.

Lets face it.. This team is NOT as talented on the field as it is on paper.

You are what your record is.. which means everyone is 0-8. a few players away possibly from being winning team.

Smh fail. A non talented team doesn't go up 21-0 then losses because they aren't talented. That's mostly coaching, play calling, and scheming. Obviously players could have executed better at some points but it's hard when you are being held back and not used to what you excel at as a player.

If we are only "a few players away" wouldn't that mean that we actually do have talent on the team but only a few areas of need?

A Talented team STOPS the other team.. its not always about Coaching.. The coaches didnt give the seahawks good field position by missing tackles on the golden tate return..

The coaching staff didnt let russel wilson get away from a sack several times and then score a td.

lets stop putting this all on schiano..

The defensive front 4 is horrible..

Clayborn and Bowers or DTN or DNT whatever it is.. they are not that effective.. it could be scheme.. but GOOD players make plays.. bottom line.. And these guys just dont make many. this was a seahawk team without 2 starting tackles and the two DE's couldnt get to the QB.

Its possible that some of the players we have may need to be replaced. ones we "think" are talented.

You are absolutely right Hit55 .

What you say is harder to swallow though...much easier to scapegoat the HC and blame it all on him ....most won't want to hear it.

What is your point? I was wrong? Ok. You win. I was wrong.

Funny how Auburn went from worst to about to be first when they got the offensive genius at head coach.

You do realize that's specifically how Wilson has made a name for himself escaping sure sacks and getting outside the pocket and scoring touchdowns? That's  just nic picking.

We are a talented team. The number of (recent) Pro Bowl appearances of our players support that.

Don't think coaching or playing are completely at fault. We very nearly started 3-1. Then who knows what the Freeman situation would've turned into, along with the rest of our season.

But things were going south from the middle of last season (6-4 to losing 11 of 12 now?) and I think a lot of that is the circus the Schiano created and the poor scheming that was displayed in the Steve White article.

Players have to execute, but it's the coaches that have to put them in a position to win.

1. Donald
2. Bridgewater
3. Landry
5. Abbrederis
6. Lyerla

Exactly...when you watch other teams you always see players that make the instinctive play.  No coaching can help this.  I feel we have some real good players and even a few exceptional but on balance we still don't have a solid team with real good players at all positions.  If we get through this year I think the remaining holes will be filled.  The Freeman thing really took its toll...basically wasting a whole year.  I think we will see more player changes and coaching changes ( not HC ) next year which will take us to the next level.

I think Glennon is a good QB but very young and still developing.. I wouldnt pass on a QB in the draft still.

I think our DLine Sucks.. McCoy is great. gets solid push.. gets after it.. but has ZERO help.

Our LB's outside of David suck.. Mason Foster is horrible in Coverage and we've had  constant backups playing at LOLB since cato june left.

You look at our secondary.. Once Revis is able to go Man to Man he is supposed to cover the second best guy.. (NOT the best like others think) and we roll coverage to the best.. Who are we rolling? Banks who has not looked good in his rookie year and lenord johnson who is a little bit better then EJ biggers?

Our Safeties are good but both seem to be better suited playing Strong Safety

Now lets look at the offense..

We can start with the line.. Davin Joseph has been hurt but is so overrated and has been since getting here.. Carl nicks and his big toe have been a waste of money.. Donald Penn, Dotson and Zuttah have played well.

TE's - Other then Tim Wright.. Have not played well.. Crabtree just got back from injury and seems to do well on run blocking.

WR's - Vincent jackson has dropped way way to many passes and struggled to get open against a great defensive backfield.. Without Mike Williams out there the options are pretty bad.. Underwood stepped up but STILL drops passes.. Theres no one that will blow you away here.

RB- While mike james played good yesterday he needs to continue that in the next game.. Hit the hole and dont stop.. Eric Lorig is so underrated its not funny.. Guy gets no love.. If james can be consistant.. the backfield will be awesome next season.

So.. Do we look as talented now?

I dont see it.

There are two major things:

1. Much of the talent is overrated and/or washed up. When three of your former Pro Bowlers are offensive linemen either not playing at all, horribly washed up, or in mild decline, talent doesn't mean much.

2. Every team but Jacksonville has talent. Cleveland, Buffalo, Oakland, and other teams that haven't sniffed the playoffs in a decade still have talent. This isn't college football where you play half your schedule against directional schools. Every team in the NFL has enough talent to beat you.

FRG is the most logical poster on this board.  You guys just don\'t like where the logical conclusions take you.

It's not like guys like VJax just lost their talent over the course of a season. He had almost 1400 yards last season from a god awful QB.

The guys like Glennon, James, Wright who are figthing for playing time are giving it their all because they need to make the most of their opportunities. The rest of the guys can just sit back and do nothing. They know the season is done and Schiano is a goner. They have their paycheckes coming in and it will stay that way next year when the new coach comes in (at least for most of them). It's not like the coach is going to get rid of a bunch of former pro bowlers to start a bunch of mediocre FAs or rookies.

I dunno about that.. the team is playing hard.. what im trying to say is there are to many people saying this team has to much talent to be 0-8.. But when you look at it.. we really dont.

Vincent Jackson has dropped a lot of passes this year.. if you watch the games you've seen it.. still a great player but not with no one else on the other side.. he have a harder time getting the ball.
