ummmm.... I'm pretty sure he could do further damage to his shoulder just by putting on his jersey....

I would put him on IR, give James the carries.  We will need Dougie to be 100% next season.

\\\\\\\"Java, do you understand this a perfect example of why people beg me to suspend or ban you on a daily basis? Are you actually trying to make a point? Seriously what is the reason for even commenting. In fact why do you even bother coming to the boards? What happened to the intelligent poster from years ago?  A real shame. Like the Bucs yesterday, a wasted effort.\\\\\\\"

I think Mariota stays in school another year. He should, but the lure of the big money might win out.

Doug needs to make a business decision. Sit out the rest of the year and get back 100% for 2014.

The quest for .500 begins...

Agreed. Lovie is going to need him.

If Dougy is back, I expect the Bucs to win this game.

According to Rotoworld at 5:17 ET

Coach Greg Schiano said Doug Martin will only be allowed to play again this season if doctors believe he can't do further damage to his shoulder.
Martin will need surgery to repair his torn labrum at some point. But he is holding out hope that he'll get cleared to play through the injury this year and then go under the knife in the offseason. Given that the Bucs are 0-8, it's hard to see the franchise letting one of their most talented players back on the field. For now, Martin is just week to week.

This is old news, people just choose to ignore it

I saw Doug at the Commissary on base a few days ago. He was just signing autographs and posing for pics, but you could tell he had limited range of motion. I don't think he is anywhere close to being ready to play.

A decision is coming Monday, leaning to IR.

It still irks me that, that particular play was called.  A five foot nothing RB running a wheel route near the goal line?  Blows my mind.

You don't make a "final" decision on a week-to-week player-- unless he's going on IR.

Good move.

Doesn't bother me at all. Doug had the catch and it would have been a great play if the defender handed left his feet and torpedo'd Doug in the head area. What bothers me is that there was no flag and no fine.
