Thank YOU BOBBY!   You know the one JImbo Fisher considers" the greatest head coach in the history of College Football" which I certainly agree but Bowden is actually an ever better man.

Thank you Jimbo for choosing FSU over Alabama and Saban., and thank you Jameis for choosing FSU!

GO NOLES!    :D

Arrest made in apartment shooting that involved two FSU football players

An argument between two Florida State football teammates resulted in a Dec. 22 shooting that left one man with a gunshot wound to the head.

Tarron Addison, 20, of Madison, is now in Leon County Jail facing an attempted murder charge in connection with the shooting, which stemmed from an argument between FSU running back Mario Pender and FSU offensive lineman Ira Denson.

Pender told officers with the Tallahassee Police Department that Denson used his missing debit card on Dec. 20. Pender said he went to Denson's apartment earlier in the day on Dec. 22 to get his money back, but Denson wasn't there, according to court documents. Pender then took a pair of his shoes as “collateral” for Denson using his debit card, he told police.

Pender then called Denson to tell him he had his shoes and wanted his money back. Denson told Pender he was in Madison but was heading back into town where they could exchange the money and shoes, according to court documents.

Denson, in an interview with police, said he and Addison, who had recently served prison time on a burglary charge, drove to Tallahassee in Denson’s car. When Denson’s car became low on gas, they switched to Addison’s friend’s car, a white PT cruiser. They then headed over to Seminole Ridge, located at 1375 Pullen Road, to meet with Pender, according to court documents.

At 5:32 p.m., Pender got a text from Denson saying he'd be stopping by Pender's apartment at Seminole Ridge soon with the money. Pender said he didn’t want a confrontation with Denson, so he told his half brother, Tim Pruitt, 19, to give Denson the shoes when he arrived. Pruitt then went downstairs in front of building No. 2 of the apartment complex to meet Denson, according to court documents.

Moments later, Pender heard a loud argument, causing him to leave his apartment and go to a second floor balcony. From the balcony, he saw Denson standing in the open passenger-side door of the white PT cruiser while another man, whom he did not know, was standing outside the driver’s side door, according to court documents.

Pender said he then heard Pruitt yell at Denson for taking the money. Denson and the other man, whom Denson identified as Addison, yelled back at Pruitt, according to court documents.

Pender said he told Pruitt to give them the shoes so they would leave. After Pruitt placed the shoes in the car's trunk, the car backed out to leave and shots were fired.

Pender said he saw Addison point a chrome revolver out of the driver's side window and shoot three to four times in the direction of Pruitt and Pender. Pender said Pruitt started holding his head and saying he had been shot. A bullet had gone through Pruitt’s left ear and stopped behind his left eye, according to court documents.

At 5:43 p.m., TPD officers were called to the apartments in response to the gunshots. Pruitt had already been rushed to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. Police are unaware of Pruitt’s status at this time.

In an interview with police the next day, Denson denied stealing Pender’s debit card but did say he was in the car, with Addison as the driver, at the time of the shooting.

Denson said he paid $150 to Pruitt, who refused to return the shoes as promised. He then told Addison to pull out of the parking lot. As they pulled out, Denson said Addison pulled out a chrome revolver and held it out the driver’s side window with his left hand while driving with his right. Denson said Addison fired six times until he was out of ammunition, according to court documents.

Denson added that he didn’t realize anyone had been shot, according to court documents.

Denson and Pender are both members of the Florida State football team, but neither has played in a game yet for the Seminoles.

Pender, who was one of the nation’s top running backs as a senior at Cape Coral’s Island Coast High, was redshirted as a freshman in 2012. He was ruled academically ineligible in 2013 but has returned to the team and is expected to compete for playing time this spring.

Denson signed with FSU in 2013 and was redshirted as a freshman. The Madison County native was one of the nation’s top 10 offensive guard prospects, according to some recruiting services.

Neither player traveled with the FSU football team to Pasadena, Calif., for the BCS national championship game.

On Thursday, FSU coach Jimbo Fisher praised Pender for his work in the classroom and improving maturity. He also said that Denson was not with the team and that his future with the program would be decided at a later date.

Addison was sentenced to prison in June 2012 on a charge of burglary and also faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Hmmm?   So did an FSU player shoot somebody like Hernandez?     Has any FSU player been charged with anything by the criminal justice system?  I do believe that the guy that did the shooting is in jail.       Point to all this? ;)

Oh and for the record.. Denson has been off the team for quite some time.   Wonder if someone might be alive today if Meyer at Florida had acted similarly with Hernandez when he was identified for shooting in Gainesville with Reggie Nelson?   From my understanding the case has never  been solved!! :o

Addison was sentenced to prison in June 2012 on a charge of burglary and also faces a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

It seems the criminal justice system has properly arrested and jailed the guilty party.   Knowing the history of the TPD and FSU athletes in trouble with the law

See Warrick, Mcpherson, Johnson, Sims, Janokowski, etc etc I seriously doubt they would allow Denson to walk away without criminal charges if there was indeed any.

Denson is off the team...  What more do you wish FSU to do? Neither player traveled with the FSU football team to Pasadena, Calif., for the BCS national championship game.

Should Denson and Pender both be hung in front of the capital even though neither apparently has any criminal charges?   Is the KKK still alive and well in Florida?

JMO but if the article is completely accurate there certainly would seem to be charges against Denson.  If there are no criminal charges against Denson than what do you suggest FSU do that they haven't already done?   Can the school kick him out with no criminal charges?   Until the whole story is known I will reserve judgment.

Do I think according to the article that Denson has been disappointing and ridiculous in his behavior?  Certainly if the story is accurate I would doubt he ever plays for FSU.   JMO but I believe there is more to the story.

Hey  lets assume that Fisher indeed allows Denson back on the team.  Is that any different than Spurrier letting Gaffney back on the team after he stole valuables at a high school playoff game.   Funny thing..  Gaffney never missed a game.  Both Denson and Pender have yet to play a down despite being on scholarship.

Yeh Denson is a nitwit and thief not sure Pender deserves the label..     As for the senile old fool's defense of them I wasn't aware that Steve Spurrier made a comment on the issue? Link?

He has a history of excusing and defending such players involved with theft.

Oh and for the record now that Denson has been formerly charged(Interesting concept to gators) he has NO chance of returning to the team.  Funny how when Hernandez was involved he was given "star" status as a reward by Urban.

Let's face it.  Parking tickets vs. Murder.  UF wins the criminal race for the time being.

Comparing the arrest records of FSU and UF and calling ONE criminals is the real laugh here.

http://arrestnation.com/teamsschools/university-of-florida/
http://arrestnation.com/teamsschools/florida-state-university/

Since 2010, UF wins (?) 16-12 in arrests.  Not saying FSU doesn't have "criminoles", just that pointing it out as a UF fan is ridiculous.

Again, having a former player in jail for murder may tip the scales....

http://miami.cbslocal.com/2013/06/27/ufs-arresting-problem/

Since 2005, there's been 44 arrests for UF players.

When you're team is 4-8, I guess you GRASP for any win off the field.
