The only one being disingenuous is you praising the old BCS as being a good thing and ridiculously declaring that the BCS got it right every year.   Next you say you look forward to the new playoff?    Make up your mind.

Not sure if the best team won every year, but it definitely did at a better rate than the NFL. When a naysayer like yourself can do nothing but completely avoid or deflect from the inquiry about an instance when the best team didn't win, it only shows how weak your argument is.

Ok, you aren't being disingenuous. You're just stupid. I'll say it AGAIN, so that maybe even a mental midget like yourself can understand......

While the BCS has proven to be effective at determining who the best team in CFB is, even moreso than the NFL system, I think a playoff makes for more excitement, and look forward to it.

If it truly was effective we wouldn't have a playoff starting next season.  Division One finally decided to join every other level of football by having a playoff.  It still isn't there yet but it is a start.

There is the regular season and the post season.  CFB has always had its post season  its exhibition season with tons of bowl games that don't mean much of anything more than a reward for a good season which has now morphed into barely a winning season.

Arguing that the NFL system isn't as good as the way CFB decides its champion is moronic.  It is all about the opportunity to play for a championship.

Stating that 2 teams at the end of the season that have no common opponents are somehow better than 120+ teams is ridiculous.

Notre Dame had a perfect season by the standards of Division One they were the National Champions since they were the only major undefeated team by your standards...  Tell me that you believe they were the best team in America at the end of the regular season.  So someone decides another one loss team should play them and if they win they are the best.     Ridiculous.  With 120 plus teams an 8 or 16 team playoff is the only fair way to solve the issue.  Who is to say a 3 loss team that possibly had a much tougher road with its conference might not be better than an undefeated team in another conference.  Play it on the field not the voting booth!!

When was the last time a team that definitely was not the best, took home the trophy?

Call it flawed. Whine until you are blue in the face........... The fact is, the best team has won the BCS at a better clip than the best team has won the Super Bowl. DWI

Again, you refuse to answer the question.

There's a reason for that.

That's fine, if you like things that way. However, there will be more instances where the best team in the league doesn't win it all.

It definitely will be more fun though, and I look forward to it. I also hope to see the playoffs expand.

But the system you desire (5 conference champions, 3 at large, and no more than 2 from one conference) is flat out stupid. A 5 loss Wisconsin would have been in over many more deserving teams last year.

And no matter how you slice it, there will always be a "beauty contest" as you like to call it, involved.

Answer question?   NO need to because the whole premise is full of sheet..... but in the interest of teaching...

When Houston played NC St in basketball that defines why you have a real playoff.    That you apparently are in deadly fear of a team with a worse won/loss record winning the championship is understandable.
Cowards always feel that way.  True champions fear no one and no hurdle.

The team with the best won /loss record is not always the best team at the end.   That is why every level of football has a real playoff except the bowl dragging FBS.   The silly part of it all is depending on what Poll you say is the correct one many teams claim National championships.  The only FACT worth mentioning is the NCAA doesn't recognize any of them.   Why not?

Suggesting that the best 2 teams can be chosen each year by merely a vote is the drivel of those lacking any cognitive skills, logic, and reasoning.

My suggestion of  5 conference champions certainly has more merit than what is going to happen next season.  If you win your conference you are in.  If you have a great season but slip up once you still may make the final 8 as a Alabama fan surely you can appreciate this after all Alabama mulligan-ed their way into a rematch with LSU.

I can tell you that WITHOUT A DOUBT, the 2007 NY Giants were NOT the best team in professional football.

Until you can tell me the last time the best team did NOT win the BCS, there's no need to continue this discussion.

Your concession is noted.

OK here is a question that I hope you will give an honest and truthful answer. ( Is that even possible?)

I realize this will present a difficult conundrum for you.   ;)

Who do you  believe is the better team Auburn or Alabama this year based on the entire season?      Oh the dilemma!    :D   WHAT SHOULD THE ANSWER BE?  LOL Uh uh uh!

That's easy

Alabama is the better team, and without a boatload of luck, AU would not be in the championship game.

AU had a 2 TD loss to LSU, and needed miracles, bad officiating and/or a great deal of luck to beat Bama, UGA, and A&M.

In 5 of their 7 SEC games, the margin of victory was < or = one score.

But, none of that matters, as AU won their only matchup in what was, in essence, a playoff game.

If this was next year, Bama (probably) would be playing AU again, and would be favored. There's a reason for that.

But FSU is going to roll, and I won't argue that they are the best team in the country, when it happens.

I know what you're getting at, but again, Bama had their chance, and blew it. It happens.

So following that honest answer than Alabama should be playing FSU for the MNC this season.  So I guess the BCS got it wrong when as you stated above the BCS gets it right by voting on the two best teams?

So which is it?  If you believe Alabama is the best team of  the two and FSU beats Auburn are you willing to say that FSU is not only the best team in the country but would also beat Alabama had they met?   Correct?  Playoff game?  so by the same token when Alabama lost to LSU a couple of years ago it wasn't a playoff game?

I thought I told you I wasn't going to discuss the BCS vs playoff debate anymore, until you answered my question that I have asked repeatedly.

Did you not understand that when I said it?

Let me know when you have an answer.

Until then (tick tock, tick tock), your concession is noted.

again you just answered the question yourself when you stated Bama was a better team than Auburn and then came back with the Auburn vs Alabama game being playoff????    I then pointed out that by that  assuming that declaration to be true ( it isn't) than when Alabama lost its (playoff?) game against LSU it should not have been in the Championship according to your assertion that such games are a  playoff???

The BCS has never got it right since they have never had a real playoff.   Just picking (2) teams by a vote to play in a game and calling the winner the best of all 120 is ridiculous and again such a title is not recognized by the NCAA.  Even the upcoming 4 team won't be either but it will be better.

Merry Christmas!

I thought we were talking about Bama/AU? Not continuing the debate that you had already conceded?

Still no answer, huh?

Don't wanna chat about Bama/AU? Not about the MNC game? Oh.... Your super powered scanner set to the Gainesville frequency must be going off, maybe?
