That would certainly be a huge blow not only to Alabama but the SEC as well.   Personally,  I don't know why Saban would want to go to Texas but that is JMO.  I am sure Alabama will match any money offer Texas comes up with.    Of course if it does happen Finebaum and all his Bamy fans are going to go apoplectic. Probably start a civil war against the state of Texas. Are there trees to poison on the Texas campus or is there something else that could be defiled? Bama fans like Bull gator fans are capable of doing  almost anything to a rival.  sad that such fans exist.

Really don't know, but I'm leaning towards him going to Texas.

If he goes, Bama fans, for the most part, will be fine. Of course, there could be a few misguided individuals that will struggle with watching the best coach in CFB since the last great Bama coach leave, and possibly take things to extremes, but every large fan base has nut jobs.

I'd love to have a decent discussion about this topic as things progress, but I fear that will be difficult based on the trolling nature of the OP.

FWIW... I've heard through a pretty reliable source that his wife just recently bought a house in Austin under an LLC...

I believe he stays at Bama since money will not be the issue.     Guess it depends on the ego of Saban.  I imagine to everyone but older fans he is a close to the God of all CFB than even the Bear.

According to his quarterback he is staying unless of course Saban is lying again.

Actually, if he goes, there' a hell of a lot of more factors in play than just his ego.

What he has achieved is great in any era. Doing it in this era is nothing short of remarkable. Bear Bryant and Nick Saban are the 2 best CFB coaches of all time, and there's really no debate.

Link?

From what I've read, AJ simply gave his opinion on the matter. Is there new info out about Saban telling AJ that he is staying?

I messed with coach, [saying] hes getting too old to start up again somewhere else, A.J. McCarron said Thursday on ESPN. He told me hes not leaving.

This pleases me, but again Saban has been know to lie about these things.

If I was at 60/40, he leaves, I'm now at 59/41.

Better to expect the worst, and hope for the best.

I think Saban is the best CFB coach of all time.  What he's done in the current age of college football is more impressive than anything any other coach has done, including Bear Bryant.

Bobby > Saban
Saban has twice as many rings in the last 10 years as Bowden had in his entire career.

He's also won championships at two schools.

He's done this in the toughest conference, as well as in an era where winning championships is more difficult.

How many does Saban need to win before FSU fans would put him ahead of Bowden? Is it even possible for you to admit it? Would it change your mind if he goes to Texas and wins one? If so, would that ring magically make him the best ever?

Your pic makes it seem as if only Bama fans believe that Saban is better than Bowden, but surely you recognize this is not the case. Of anyone who thinks that Bowden>Saban, the VAST majority are FSU fans. CFB fans as a whole recognize Saban as the better coach.

I have my reasons for my belief that Bowden > Saban.

Basically, the big ones are:

1) Bobby transformed an obscure football program into a perennial powerhouse. Saban coached schools who were already distinguished football schools. Personally, I think someone like Saban could walk into Ohio University and turn that into a powerhouse, but he won't as he is only interested in the big boys with the big money.

2) The Top 5 streak that FSU had under Bobby that encompassed two decades. Saban can't commit to a team longer than 5-7 years so I don't see that happening.

Saban is a great college coach and I don't know who I would say is the best of all time, but those really are good points McBarron.
