Where have we read some of this before:

"The coalition, which advocates for additional gun control laws, said that up to 40 percent of the 6.6 million sales, trades or other transfers of guns in 2012 were conducted by private sellers. The report said that a huge increase in online sales has exacerbated the problem"

Bloomberg and the report singled out Armslist.com as a website used by what they called “high-volume sellers” who, they argued, should be required to hold federal firearms licenses. The Gun Control Act excludes private sellers selling weapons from their own collections from having to hold licenses, but it does not define when a private seller crosses the line to become “engaged in the business.” There are no rules about how many guns can be sold in a year, for instance. The mayors’ coalition report also notes that courts have interpreted the law differently as a result

The report said that gun sellers are also circumventing dealer licensing rules at gun shows. It said that because background checks were avoided in these online and gun show sales, weapons were winding up in the hands of people with criminal records who couldn’t otherwise legally own weapons. The report cited the case of a man arrested in Washington state in 2010 who was accused of selling a .223-caliber semiautomatic rifle at a gun show a week before the weapon was used to kill a Seattle police officer and severely wound another as they sat in their patrol car. He pleaded guilty to charges of selling to people prohibited from owning guns and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

buy a gun on armslist without a background check?  buy a gun at a gun show without a background check?   . . . un-possible

I think those "rules" they refer to are what we normal people call laws.

Gun legislation is one if the best examples of the government creating a false impression

Profit driven gun logic:

If I buy on Monday, background check required. If I sell the same gone Tuesday, no background check.

Why? So I can buy again on Wednesday. You can sell a lot of guns without a strong secondary market because I need to be able to sell my old one to get the newest one.

Has nothing to do with the 2nd Amendnent. Only about money.

From Johns Hopkins:

What is keeping so many gun owners on the sidelines? One likely impediment is the way the issue has been cast as a cultural battle as opposed to a public safety problem. Another may be gun owners' susceptibility to the gun lobby's bogus talking points.
The frame for this cultural battle is not accidental. Pushed by the gun lobby and fanned by news media's tendency to highlight conflict, widely favored, commonsense safety measures such as background checks are portrayed as attacks on gun owners' way of life. The gun lobby's claims that background checks restrict gun ownership and lead to gun registries and confiscations are repeated and often left unchallenged.
When you hear something enough times, you begin to think it's true. And that's exactly the intent of the NRA and other groups.
Here's the reality check: Background checks pose no threat to lawful gun ownership.
Federal law forbids the federal government from maintaining anything resembling a registry of gun owners. Federal law has mandated background checks for guns sold by licensed gun dealers since 1994 without creating a registry. Exempting private gun transactions from background check requirements facilitates gun trafficking. Fixing this fatal flaw in the system would curtail the diversion of guns to criminals.
In the year since the tragedy in Newtown, it is likely that more than 12,000 Americans have died of gun violence and countless others live in fear of being shot. We should stick to facts, dispel myths, and call a truce to cultural battles.
Current federal gun laws aid criminals and the gun industry at the expense of public safety. Requiring background checks for all gun sales would give the vast majority of gun owners what they want while keeping guns from those who shouldn't have them.

They want the registry so the F-16s and B-2s know where to drop the bombs first . . .  which is why we all need assault rifles . . . nothing stops a B-2 like an assault rifle.

j/k

Lol, leave it you to conveniently rewrite history. Lol

The truth is you said you could legally buy beer online without id. You said that because I pointed out that you can legally buy an assault rifle online with nothing. As usual, you stormed in swinging your club only to look like a buffoon ...again.

"I pointed out that you can legally buy an assault rifle online with nothing."

And it was pointed out to you that you have no clue what you're talking about, but you are a liar, so here you are right back with the same nonsense. Do your idiotic self a favor, and look up two things on wikipedia: the definition of assault rifle, and the definition of assault weapon. Assault weapons and assault style weapons are made up terms that lack definition. They're used to fool the gullible sheep. "Assault rifle" on the other hand, has a very specific definition. It must be able to switch between single fire and fully automatic fire. ANY weapon capable of fully automatic fire that was not manufactured and registered prior to 1986 requires you to submit a form 4 to the BATF. If you receive a permit, which you probably won't, it takes about three months. This is not the standard criminal background check for regular non automatic or semi automatic firearm purchases.

Mr. Dishonesty shows up . . .  . with the strict definition of an "assault rifle" . . .  lol at that complete FAIL.  Mr. Dishonest Illuminator, caught in a lie ("less guns equal less gun violence . .oops . .  but more guns doesn't equal more gun violence-- roflmao!!)" now calling me a liar . . . lmao.

We've had the discussion long enough about "assault rifles" to know that your resorting to that definition is just more . .  .well, dishonesty.

way to keep proving right little angry Illum
