And some good news .... or not  Spankees keep trying to buy championships ..... smh

http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/story/_/id/10331816/masahiro-tanaka-new-york-yankees-agree-seven-year-155-million-deal

Masahiro Tanaka has decided to sign with the New York Yankees, his agent confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com.

Tanaka's deal with the Yankees is worth $155 million over seven years and includes an opt-out clause after the fourth year, his agent, Casey Close said in a text message. Close had a deadline of 5 p.m. ET on Friday to have a contract and physical completed with the ace pitcher's new team.

Tanaka, 25, went 24-0 with a 1.27 ERA in the Japanese League last season and is considered by many to be a top-of-the-rotation starter.

Tanaka will join a revamped roster with the Yankees, who also have signed outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury, catcher Brian McCann and slugger Carlos Beltran to lucrative contracts this offseason. Those deals totaled $438 million.

Rays about to trade Torres - RP for utility infielder.   Guy did a great job for us last year.

I can't say I understand getting rid of Torres of a swing player.  Torres did an outstanding job last season.

Getting rid of Torres sucks.  He was our best bullpen guy last year.

I always thought it was a mistake when they let Balfour go.  Glad he's back.  Love to watch him cuss up a storm on the mound.

Yup, I'm glad to have Balfour back his stuff is electric. Bullpen still has a plethora of washed up arms though so we'll need McGee, Perlata, etc...to stay healthy

We still haven't really done anything about our bats though...

Dude, they traded for Ryan Hannigan and re-signed Jose Molina.  What else do you want?

Seriously, I'm hoping a full season of Myers with a healthy Longoria and Jennings will produce quite a bit more this season than last.

LOL I know you're being sarcastic, but still to answer the question I don't expect much from them. The Rays love their Pitching, defense, and utility players. Which I myself love also. Though if we stay healthy hopefully then the offense can stay consistent. This offense honestly does get pretty hot when they are hot. Just wish we had just one more bat.

Honestly, they were better than I remembered last season, ranking in the top half of the league in average and runs scored.
