The Buccaneers signed former Eagles and Northwestern QB Mike Kafka on Monday giving them three quarterbacks on the roster. Kafka was a fourth-round draft pick in 2010 by Philadelphia.

I'll tell you right now, dude's not bad at all. Watched him in Eagles Pre season games and they really liked him. He is no Dan Marino but has a real good arm, can move, and is smart.

He got caught up in the Vick - Foles war, that's all. He is way better than Danny Boy.

I love the name.  Someone please convince me this is either a serious upgrade at backup qb or a camp body.

Wonder if Kafka is the type of QB Tedford is looking for? What characteristics does the coaching staff like about him? Could be some insight on the type of QB they covet.

Yep; IMO a legit b/u; much better than Orlovsky.
Very short competition with Rodgers  ;D.

I'm kinda surprised Rodgers was cut. I figured he'd be kept around for a bit. I wonder when the new staff had a chance to look at him. I hope something didn't happen off the field.

I really liked him.  he played a great game in Tampa in the outback bowl.  Hope he has a few more of those in him.

Maybe he jilted Tedford at Cal?
