LOL @ the Lions wanting more WR. That ain't gonna stop Stafford from having a mid-late season melt down but yeah i'm sure another top 10 pick on WR is going to give you a few more wins.

Depends on who is avail.  But I don't see much difference in who we might select at 7 with who we could get at 10.  An early third could be a starter at OG/C, TE, LB or a slot Receiver or nickel CB.

If they are smart they will take a CB at 10 and take a WR in the 2nd round.

If we were somehow to move all the way down to 18 with the Jets, imo you might as well move down again.  I like a lot of guys, but all the ones I LOVE figure to be gone by that point.  Might as well try to pick up more 2nd/3rd round picks and get to the end of the 1st.  If we like any of the "2nd tier" QB prospects take him there and have 5/6 of the next 70 picks to cherry pick BPAs.  I don't know if it is at all feasible, but it's my draftgasm.

Just take the stud game breaking WR and pass on the 3rd round pick

If they want him bad enough, we could get a 2nd and 3rd.

Didn't we just get a 4th a couple seasons ago to move down 2 spots from a higher starting pick?  Granted that draft =/= this draft, but still.  Me thinks expectations might be a little high there.  If we got a pick in the low 70's to move down to 10 from 7 would be good value.  Anything we could get on top of that would move it into "highway robbery" territory.

Not all drafts and trade scenarios are equal. It all depends on the interests of the teams and how desperate they are to move up. Washington was very desperate to move up for RG3, so they sent STL way more than that pick may have been 'worth'. I think with the Jax trade, the Bucs were probably more than happy to move back because they knew their guy would be there two spots later and they got what was available/offered. So it all depends on Detroit. If they feel that Watkins is a once in 5 years type player, then they could say screw the model and throw a little more to get the player they truly covet.

He could be their top rated player.

If he is, a 2nd would not be too much but realistically you cant bank on it.

Outside of the top 3 of Clowney Bridgewater and Bortles there is another level of great players

Gilbert
Ebron
Jake Matthews
Mike Evans
Greg Robinson
Aaron Donald

If you add Watkins in as Detroits pick that would still guarantee us one of the second tier elite potential prospects I have listed.

This draft is looking pretty good at the top. I really like all of those players.

And this doesnt count Mack or Manziel...two other options.

Mike Glennon

6\' 6\" 210
6\' 5\" 200
6\' 4\" 190 6\' 3\" 180 6\' 2\" 170 6\' 1\" 160  6\' 0\" 150 How does he compare to your favorite QB?

Mack is not an option at #10. He will be gone.

If you go by the draft value chart, the difference between the #7 pick and the #10 pick in the first round, is 200 points.

And 200 points is a mid 3rd round pick.  So, if they get a bit more than that, say a 3rd and a 7th or whatever, I would pull the trigger.

Realistic enough. Not the sexiest offseason, be we ad a lot of young depth in key positions and touch on our needs.

Trade back to #10, so the Lions can have Sammy Watkins. We add a 3rd.
Trade back to #18, so the Jets can have Mike Evans. We add a 3rd, 4th, 7th

1: Eric Ebron, TE
2. Ryan Shazier, LB (trade up a few spots, losing the 4th we received from NYJ.)
3. Cyril Richardson, OT/OG
3. Cyrus Kouandjio, OT/OG
4. Billy Turner, OT/OG
5: Dri Archer, HB/WR
7. Connor Shaw, QB
7. Taylor Hart, DE

FA: Jason Hatcher, Everson Griffen, Willie Young, Charles Tillman, Lance Moore

Love the draft, hate the free agents.
