You people who think the Bucs are going after McCown on Day 1 of Free Agency "just to be competition" or "plan B in case glennon stumbles" are STONED OFF YOUR ASS!!!

Day 1 Free Agency is when you grab IMPACT players-- not glennons.

McCown is coming here to be the STARTER. Period.

didn't we fire Gruden over his bandaid approach to QBs.  we got to look toward the future.

We have Glennon and Kafka on the roster. Maybe they dont like their head coaching future if they bank on those guys.

Chances are we wont get Bortles or Bridgewater in the draft.

If you start Glennon and win 4 games again you aint gonna have no future.

I have no problem patching that hole until your franchise QB becomes available.

Im pretty sure Gruden got fired for using the vet QB patch as a model and drafting Cadillac Williams over Aaron freaking Rodgers.
Pretty much.  I mean, it's one thing if the team has the opportunity to draft an elite QB prospect.  But it's entirely possible that they won't.  And while Glennon didn't exactly set the world on fire, there's no reason to think that a different mid-round prospect would do any better, and quite a bit to think they would likely do quite a bit worse.  That said, I just don't buy the "McCown is coming here to be the STARTER. Period." bit.  It IS true that he was a career backup until last season.  And he is 34 years old.  I just don't see him as the kind of guy you hand the reigns of the team over to, no questions asked.

Lol. You don't bid against other teams for a qb who will be in a "competition."

I mean, you may SAY "competition," but what you REALLY mean is, "we paid for him. He's starting."

Imo, the glazers would siht a chicken if they paid a backup starter money..but then place him at backup.

Naismith was right about Revis. Everyone else is a dummy.

No one is paying McCown starter money IMO

Who knew how good it would feel as a fan when we now know what it\'s like for our team to have a direction, an attitude, and dare I say an offense?.

Good time to be a Bucs fan.

Don't think there will be too many bidders?

True but if he gets a 2 year 10 million deal like Matt Cassel just signed with the Vikings then I'm pretty sure it's going to be a open competition this off season.

if Josh McCown starts a game for us next year, I won't be watching. Terrible signing if this happens.

I hope the Bucs don't make McCown a priority to sign day 1 of FA...that would be almost as bad as Dominik making it a priority to sign Koenen.

Epic fail.

Fix the lines first then worry about the rest IMO.

Bingo.

At least Koenen was good at kickoffs. McCown just blows except for a couple games last year.
