The #Saints are cutting RB Darren Sproles, per source.

My question is, speed in space and Special Team ability. Why not?

For the right price, I am all for bringing him in.

Per source, Darren Sproles not cut yet.  Could be traded.  If not traded, will be cut.

It seems either way he isn't going to be a Saint.

The Saints are in cap hell, but wow.  I know they like that Robinson kid.  Get all over him Tampa.  He is not exactly speed in space, but he is devastating to defenses in the pass game.  He is also a plus pass blocker, weird for someone his size.  His current cap # would be like 3.5 if we traded for him.  Could probably extend him another 2-3 seasons once we had him for around that annually.  Give them a 7th every day of the week.  He is the best 3rd down running back in the NFL by a wide margin.  No brainer.  Tedford would love him and whoever is playing QB for us would as well.   He is a 3rd down converting machine and frees up other receivers just by sending him out of the backfield into the flat.  Hot damn, I never thought we'd get another shot at him.

With virtually no tread off his tires who has shown no signs of decline.

Coming off the Bench for Martin. 31 isn't to bad for a Gadget player like Sproles.

That and he doesn't have the mileage of some of these running backs.

Over the last 5 seasons Darren Sproles:

133 1st downs receiving, 336 total receptions, 2998 yards receiving (8.9 yards per reception for a **CENSORED**ing running back), 22 TDs receiving

72 1st downs rushing, 331 rushes, 1677 yards rushing (over 5 ypc), 8 TDs rushing

Already accustomed to fitting himself into a limited role in an offense and dominating in that role.

Oh, and he's an ok returner (think we could do better, but not a bad fall back plan).

Problem is we are still going to need a guy that can get this kind of player the ball...

Who knew how good it would feel as a fan when we now know what it\'s like for our team to have a direction, an attitude, and dare I say an offense?.

Good time to be a Bucs fan.

We don't need really need RB's.

What is your point? I was wrong? Ok. You win. I was wrong.
