I don't like the schedule at all
2nd - @ NYY 1
4th - @ NYY 1
5th - @ NYY 7
6th - v. TOR 7

Why couldn't getaway day been a day game and tommorrow / Wednesday be a night game?

I have to work 9-6 tomorrow, i'll be lucky to catch an hour of it on my lunch.
I'll be at the stadium when the Royals smack the Red Sox in the nuts. ICIT...I'll send you a picture message of the scoreboard when the Royals win.
Royals win, Rays win, first day for a day (at least), can't wait.

I love your boston hatred, and I hope you are correct in predicting the outcome.

"there are no medals here for who can stay at the office the longest," said Jagodzinski. "I'm not into that. The guys that brag about working till 2 in the morning, in my opinion, they're just not smart enough. "

18,2,25,13 ... murderers row?

I support coach Calhoun and his salary

Regarding Bonds, look people hated Ty Cobb in his day too, he used to fight fans during the game for crying out loud.

Some of those "experts" had the Rays finishing 3rd.

I saw a funny one on espn where Jeter & ARod ran into each other & turned around & looked at the ball falling behind them.

Yes? Will Carroll and Kevin Goldstein aren't exactly Steve Phillips, they know the game pretty well, of course they aren't Nostradamus but third isn't out of the question this year if things go right.

Might be interesting for you Joe, things could've been a lot worse than they are if Phillips has either of those deals go down, or if Minaya trades Wright / Reyes to the Rays like LaMar wanted for Baez.

It wasn't Minaya who was involved with those proposed trades of Reyes/Wright
mentioned in that blog. Which propsed trade are you referring to? A more recent
one?

That WAS ineresting. Thanks.

I'm just saying, we've heard bright future about the rays since they entered the league.  It is time to start showing some results.

How long did it take the Bucs to have a sold team that could compete year in and out?

About twenty years.

Oh no I meant in 2005, when Minaya took over he wanted Danys Baez, LaMar told him bluntly "You can send either Wright or Reyes."

Keep in mind this was about a year after the Kazmir deal.

Phillips would have made that trade I bet.

Glad to have Omar.

Phillips disregard for minor league talent is sickening, trading away guys like Melvin Mora and Jason Bay and basically throwing Reyes and Wright out the door. His 'win now or else' mindset lead to the Kazmir deal from Duq as well.

The Braves SHOULD contend for a Wild Card spot this year. The team's achilles' heel last year, the bullpen, has been shored up with Gonzo and Soriano, along with re-signing Wickman. Adding Redman was nice, and despite the problem with fb's CHucky James should settle into the #3 spot in the rotation nicely. With Hampton not expected back until May, Hudson needs to hurry up and get his act together. The offense will be good too, with Kelly Johnson nailing down the 2B spot. Hopefully he's a better leadoff than Giles.(he cant do worse, can he?)
