Anybody think we might move Ronde to S? It might be a good idea considering we are trying to wiehg our options at both S and CB. There are some quality corners on the FA market this offseason and adding on of them and a SS would be really nice. Ronde would be a beast at FS though. Just a thought....

After last week any thought of moving Ronde ANYWHERE should be dismissed.  It is man-law that he is the starting CB in Tampa.

Ronde is the man.  He was half ther eason why the Bucs won Sunday.  The other half belongs to a miracle.

I, for one, am not sold on Ruud as MLB, that's for sure.

I keep waiting to see him consistently step in the gap and stuff the run.
 Haven't seen that yet.

I'm not either. There were alot of good players available with that pick in the 2nd round. I hope he works out but I have my doubts.

Middle linebackers in this system are not slow.

Slow is a relative term.  Our linebackers are fast for linebackers, but probably every safety in the league could outrun Ruud.

What Ruud lacks in speed he'll eventually make up for instinctively. But he needs PT to develop instincts at this level, so be patient...

Hey lets put Ruud in at safety and then get McFarlan back to play middle linebacker.

Ruud doesn't have the hips, acceleration, agility to run down field with WR or TE's, he just doesn't have the skills that are required.

I like the idea of having a guy that can deliver a hit like a dump truck on a WR,  ala Lynch.

Regardless of the Ruud suggestion, we are in serious jeapordy when it comes to our safeties.

Ruud is very good at coverage contrary to popular belief and is an explosive player with good acceleration.  Linebackers in this scheme do not have straightline speed but they need to be able to have that burst to go sideline to sideline.

I'm not saying that I am hoping it will happen or it should happen. I'm just saying that it could be a possibility due to Ronde's versatility and playmaking ability.
