Ryan Madson in relief for the Phils, pitching to Kelly Johnson top of the tenth.  First pitch strike, second pitch ball.  Third pitch, low slider, ball.

Johnson is up 3-1, and the pitch high swing and a miss.  Full count.

Inside fastball for a leadoff walk.

1-2 count for Ed Rent.  He is foul tipping his bunt attempts.

Looks like they are going to let him swing away now (don't blame them).

Barrajas smother a pitch in the dirt, Johnson stays pat.

Edgar is the man.

But the way this game is going.....

Yeah, looked like a good game.  Glad Braves pulled it out.  Ironically Renteria's **CENSORED**ty bunting helped us win....

Good win on Opening Day for the Braves. Hopefully this sets the tone for the rest of the season.

I'm assuming the two new relievers pitched?

Indeed, the Braves bullpen looked solid.  Soriano was very sharp.  Didn;t throw the best stuff, but he was not in jeopardy of ebing yanked either...kudos!

Yeah, Soriano and Gonzo pitched solid innings in relief.

Was a GREAT game to watch tonight.

I was prepared for a loss, but was VERY happy with the way Hudson pitched tonight. Looked GREAT.  Even if we had lost I would have been happy given the way Hudson pitched.

But then after McCann hit that HR it was even better.  Then for Thorman to hit a bomb in the 11th followed by a scoreless 9th from Wick, great night.

Yeah, Gonzo gave up a run tonight but I am still VERY pleased with the Pen so far.  They have gone 8 innings over 2 games and allowed 1 run.  Last year these were 2 games we lose, this year 2 big wins.  Opening the season with 2 wins on the road against a contender and rival like Philly is great for the young guys especially.

Second game has been good, McCann hits a 2-R HR in the 9th to make it 2-2.

MCCANN4MVP.
