At Atlanta, a better than expected Baltimore team, a better than expected Saints team, and an always tough Carolina team. We could have lost these four games no matter what month of the season they were played in.

that argument really discounts the importance of streaks, winning and losing. every year there's teams like the dolphins and vikes who rip off 6 game winning streaks after underperforming, but winning 4 after losing 4 in a row is not exactly as easy as winning 2 losing 1, wining 1, losing 2, winning 1 or something like that - especially because your players are looking ahead instead of focusing on the present

Interesting thought.....I think when a team goes 0-4 they can collaspe and not finish very well. But if you have good coaching and leadership, it can trun around. If this were a team that had many egos and questionable coaching, the collapse more be more likely. Good team chemistry, leadership and relentless coaching could go very far. Last year Chicago lost three of their first four, Pittsburgh was 6-5 Twelve weeks in last year.....watch and see.

That 4 game win streak sure did wonders for the Jets game last season. According to the "streak" theory, the Buccs should have only been stopped by a superior team in the 5th game.  If the player's spirits and focus were lifted so high from riding a 4 game streak, there should have been no way they lose to a far inferior Jets team with an QB older than Moses who was sitting on his couch 4 days prior.

You never know what can happen but usually 9 times out of 10 a team that starts 0-4 will not make it to the playoffs but like I said you never know what could happen.

Because the Saints are on top of the South right now.

Anything can happen.  Will it?  Probably not.  But hey...you never know.

As long as the Bucs get geared up for the Giants.  But the Bucs just look overmatched, and I doubt the defense does much in this one.

The year we won the Super Bowl, the Raiders started 4-0, then proceeded to lose their next 4 in a row.  Their offense got in gear and didn't lose until the Super Bowl.  Streaks, flukes, things happen.  Never say never...

Two years ago, Ben Roethlisberger led the Steelers to a 14-2 season before losing to the eventual champion Patriots. For an encore, Roethlisberger brought his team up here to SE Michigan and won Super Bowl XL. Like Roethlisberger, Gradkowski starred for a MAC school in Ohio.

So far the defense has been in position a lot but simply failed to wrap up tackles. They tackled well against Cincy, and the result was obvious. Right now this defense goes as far as it's tackling. The offense has the talent to burn teams, but Bruce is a rookie. If he "gets" enough of the offense, and continues to shy away from the big mistakes, we might get enough out of the offense to win some games, especially if the defense gets its head out of its rear. With the exception of safety, I don't think there's a lack of talent on team, though DL is not as strong as it's been in past years. If they can just keep finding a way to win, you just never know. One game at a time. If they win this Sunday, then they will be in very familiar territory. We know all about 3-4 during the mid-Dungy tenure seasons. That would then give us a chance to come back home and claw back to 0.500. Will it happen? It looks a lot better than two weeks ago.
