The Bucs have NEVER, EVER had a franchise QB and to pass up on a potential franchise QB would not be easy.
Steve Young is in the Hall of Fame. Â If that's not a "franchise" QB, I don't know what is.
Doug Williams in reality was a franchise QB. Â He was the heart and soul of the team back then and one of the top QB's in the league.
Vinny Testaverde had rough years in Tampa. Â But the guy played in the league for 20 years and started almost all of them. Â He was actually a franchise QB as well, he just had absolute crap to work with in Tampa and horrible coaching.
Although the majority of Tampa fans have always blamed the QB for our woes, QB has quite rarely been the problem in Tampa. Â Â We've had some really good QB's here.
Dilfer and Deberg were also quite good QB's. Â Brad Johnson was functional. Â Â In my opinion, QB has always been one of the least of our worries.
That being said, if we draft Quinn, I will be happy. Â I like the guy.
