That too.  LOL!    But the Raiders got 2 number ones and 2 number twos for Gruden.   The Bucs got squat for Rich.   Not that he was worth much anyway.

What do you think we'd have paid for Gruden if Allen was negotiating for us?

Spoke with a coaching friend of mine today in Phoenix...he coaches LB's under Ryan in Oakland....we should forget about CJ because the NATION is going to take him with the 1st pick and QB Trent Edwards out of Stanford with their 2nd round pick...

Let's swap with the Cardinals so they can have the 4th pick (JT) and we get the 5th (Adams) as well as they give us their higher 2nd for our lower 2nd...

Surprised asst coaches aren't sworn to secrecy regarding who their team intends to pick.

Shouldnt they be more bitter towards the Owner, hes the one that ran Gruden out of town.  Remember, Gruden said he was leaving the next year when his contract was up with the Raiders.

Who actually brokered the deal for Gruden? I thought the Glazers bypassed McKay on that one and could have done something better than the draft picks. The Glazers forced his hand when they courted Mooch and the 'Niners, with the idea that Gruden would move across the bay when his contract with Davis was up. Davis did not want Gruden in the neighborhood. He wanted him out of the conference and in another timezone.

the only problem is that the stupid Lions may take WR Calvin Johnson. I wouldn't put it past them with their recent drafts.....but yea they are absolutely right in that we have to worry about the Lions and trading down.

The Raiders will take Russell and the Browns will most likely take Peterson. It is whether the Lions take Adams, Quinn, or trade down with a team like the Falcons who have the 2nd round picks to offer.
Why are the Lions "stupid" for taking Calvin Johnson, who by most accounts is "The be all and end all" of all Wide Receivers in NFL history?  The way he is being touted, CJ teamed with the other #1 and #2 WR in Detroit would make Martz a very happy O-coordinator.  Three wide out sets aren't a thing Martz is afraid of.  People keep saying NO WAY NO WAY the Lions go WR this year...why wouldn't they?  It isn't as if Millen doesn't have the pitchfork crowd already knocking on his door, for petes sake he had people walking out in small herds during the regular season!  If CJ is a no brainer as so many CJ lovers in this neighborhood are alluding to, then he wouldbe a perfect fit for the Lions.  He is a WR that can make the offense go, right?  He would have a very competent WR coach in Martz right?  So why doesn't it make sense?

Think about it.  The Lions beefed up their O-line.  They have Kitna who isn;t a bum.  He might even be #1 on the Bucs depth chart!  They have a decent little bruiser in KJ, throw in three nasty wideouts, and it looks like the Colts are in town, even with a blue uniform!  Of course, this is all laughable, but that isn't what they are saying in Detroit, is it?

So if JaMarcus goes #1, CJ goes #2, and AP goes #3, Thomas falls right into the BUcs laps, or the Cards might ask about trading the four and five spots, and we get an extra second.

Doesn't that rock your socks?

It makes more sense to me if CJ goes to the Lions than to the Raiders although I still don't think that'll happen.

Happy and Peppy and Bursting with love.

If the Bucs play it cool and just sit,  CJ is 50/50 to fall to them. If CJ is taken then Adams or JT will be there and a possible trade down. Bucs, do not panic please.

Gas $4 a gallon, Thank you all who voted for the Socialist.

To bypass on Thomas I would want their 2nd outright not a swap with our #64.

Guys get real. Atlanta would have to give up the entire 1st day of the draft and their 2nd next year to move up with Detroit. Rich McKay is many things but he's not stupid. Inept maybe but not stupid.

Look at any trade value chart and you'll see that the difference between #8 and #2 is 1200pts. That would require Atlanta giving up both #2's this year, their 3rd rounder and next years #2.The factor in the cap hit a #2 pick brings to Atlanta. They have less than 4 million in cap space. A #2 pick is going to gobble up that and much more.

Atlanta is right where they want to be. To move up any farther than #5 would be foolish.

The Falcons a more than one player way from making a serious run at the Super Bowl.

That's a good point and if that $4 mil is accurate, they will have to make some changes just to sign their rookies. Maybe they'll be looking to trade one of those #2 picks.  :)

It makes more sense to me if CJ goes to the Lions than to the Raiders although I still don't think that'll happen.

Makes the most sense to CLE since their last top 5 WR isn't what they'd wanted. If Calvin is SO good you'd think he'd be more interesting to them. OAk makes sense since they want to get rid of the two top WR's on their depth chart, CLE makes the next most. DET makes the least. If I was a fan of any of those teams I'd hope my FO was smart enough to pass on him.

All posts are opinions in case you are too stupid to figure that out on your own without me saying it over and over.

What ever happens, I'll be happiest if JT is there. I really think Rod is leaning toward Quinn or Adams.
