I know there are a few other fans on here and since the Braves are such a great team they need a thread. ;D Should be a good year, even after last night's 11-1 beating.

Braves beat the Mets 5-3. Wickman looked shaky at the end there but he got the job done in the end.

It's funny that you started this.  I was going to start a Braves thread and/or just a Baseball thread in general, but hadn't got around to it yet.

Yeah, Wickman scared me at the end there but a win is a win.  Even the best closers have some games like that.

Last night sucked but to come back today and get this win was big.  Mets is probably Braves biggest rival.  No matter what time of season it is you always want to beat them.  Hopefully Braves can take the rubber match tomorrow.

Why not?  Maybe he likes baseball?

Is he not allowed to attend games?

El Duque is the ageless wonder. He's still throwing 94.

I won't start a Mets thread so don't get on my case if I post here every now and then
when the Mets are playing the Braves and other times.

Just start a generic baseball thread.

El Dookie did look good today, as did Davies.  This turned into an unlikely pitchers duel.

The last few innings both teams have had a lot of chances and haven't capitalized.  It seems like the Braves have had a couple guys on for 3-4 innings straight and can't score......

Hopefully we can get some more late inning magic.

Those last two strikes were strikes. Don't know what Willie was whining about.

That's what happens when you leave runners on base. Heilman blows. For today.

Both teams left a lot out on base today.

Was a good win for ATL, glad to see Wickman bounce back with a quiet 9tha nd save unliek yesterday's wild one.

Great for the Braves to bounce back and win the last 2 after getting blown out game 1.

5-1 start, I couldn't have imagined it starting the season against Philly and NYM.

The new Pen is really paying off so far this year. With Last year's pen we'd be about 2-4 at best right now.

Nope.

Anyways, good win for us. Davies was surprisingly good yesterday. This has been a great start to the season.

No they don't. And thanks for adding such an insightful thought to the thread.

I love it how the "experts" have picked the Mets to either win the World Series, or the Phillies to win the East, and the Braves byatch slapped them out of the gate. I wasn't happy when we let Furcal get away....but wow what a beating the Dodgers have taken from him.
