John Murphy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers put Stanford QB Trent Edwards through a private workout. Edwards watched film and threw passes to a handful of players.

We better start looking for an eventual replacement to Garcia as Pornstache is not coming here, Simms sucks and so does Gradkowski.

I've had a weird feeling about Edwards because he is so much like a Gruden QB that we had to have some type of interest in him...

Trent Edwards 6'3" 1/2 223 lbs

++Size
+ Well-built and strong, good frame for the next level. Good toughness; not afraid to take a hit when delivering the ball. Decent scrambling ability for his size. Effective throwing on the run. Good arm strength, especially to mid-range targets. Solid mechanics and touch. Comfortable in play-action. Accurate when setting feet.

--Football IQ
- Must continue to improve coverage reads, locating hot reads and progressions. Lacks ideal mobility. Accuracy suffers from sloppy footwork at times. Lacks elite arm strength. Struggles to stay healthy.

NFL Comparison - Matt Hasselbeck

I heard he had a phenominal workout at his pro day in the rain. I've also heard the Lions and Raiders would be interested in him in the 2nd.

Jon Gruden said that there is a great possibility that the Bucs draft a QB early in the draft.

If they draft Edwards in the 2nd then they probably will draft defense in the first. I can't see us going offense with our first two picks.

I think were going to go (1)offense, (2a)offense, (2b)defense, (3)defense, (4)defense, (5)offense, (7a)defense, (7b)offense, and (7c)defense.

4 offensive players and 5 defensive players.

I hope not,we should go defense with the early 2nd and pickup Simeon Rices' replacement

not a bad kid, but I just can't see us taking a QB this year.  MAYBE, if he's still there in the 3rd AND we traded both Plummers rights and Simms-but again, I see it very unlikely.

I'll be shocked if Grullen (Gruden/Allen) draft a QB in any round. I think this workout is more about getting a look at him up close incase they want to sign him as a free agent in a few years.
