3rd? The highest I've seen Brewer is 6th.

Yeah, and this time last year Shelden Williams was projected 10-15.  He wnet 4 I believe.

He went 5th to the Hawks, and would've of even been a top 10 pick if the Hawks had a decent GM.

Brewer = Ariza / Brewer IMO.

He was picked on potential, which may be why Brewer slips. GM's tend not to pass up on young BIG men.

If  team wants a proven guy like Brewer, a SG/SF who can defend very well and is becoming more and more of a scorer, they'll take Brewer.  If not they'll take a project type player like Hibbert, Wright, etc.

Here's one with him #4 to Phoenix.

And I think he porjects much better than Ariza or Brewer.

Ray,

The difference in that draft was that despite the logjam at F/C (Marvin, Smith, Childress, Zaza, Wright, and Harrington who eventually left) Knight still took a F, even one who wasn't considered to have a very high ceiling.

So...Ariza then?

I doubt that.

I would say more Andre Iguodala than Ariza, by far.

2 other common comparisons Brewer gets is a to a young Scottie Pippen and Tayshaun Prince.

I think there may be some merit to the Scottie comparison actually.  I am not saying he will be as good, but I can see the comparison.  Both long, freakish wing span, both lockdown defenders, both not the most prolific scorers but can score a bit.

I'd say it's certain that trying to sneak a long armed defensive minded SF past us is like trying to sneak sunshine past a rooster.
