Juan Pierre : .180/.192 BA/OBP
Alejandro De Aza : .303/.314

Now I'm not saying De Aza is that good, since he's not, and is basically a singles hitter with a little bit of speed, but isn't it hilarious that Pierre has fallen off the map completely?

Adam LaRoche : .088/.205 1 HR
Mike Gonzalez : 6 IP 8 H 2 ER

I must say I was completely wrong about this deal, I figured LaRoche would produce somewhat simliar numbers (although not as good) in PNC Park, though it is encouraging that his OBP is a quite bit higher than his BA.

Danys Baez :6 IP 3 ER
Jay Marshall :8 IP 2 ER

Baez was a high priced FA, Marshall a Rule V pick.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are it's 10 games into the season.  A lot can and will change.

Look at Pierre's numbers the first 4-6 weeks of last year and then his final numbers.

LaRoche and Gonzo will be a wash IMO over time.  LaRoche is going to put up solid numbers when all is said and done and Gonzo will be the arm the Braves badly needed.

I could care less about the other guys really.

Jay Marshall breaks my heart, I remember the press reporting we got him in the (oh God what was the first pick of the Rule V's drafts name...) deal and I was thrilled since he seemed like he'd be a decent arm...

Another interesting stat line:

3-0, 18 IP, 1.50 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, 18 K, 5 BB, 1 HR allowed.

It's your favorite whipping boy, other than Juan Pierre of course.

The guy you said is going to be a 4.50-5.00 ERA guy and the one I said will be around 3.50-3.75 at worst.

Meh, it's early yet :).

Of course my favorite whipping boy is showing exactly why is so. .190 BA for the win!
