So you are thinking of switching to FIOS, why? why the hell are you thinking about it. Pros:
-A true 15mbs (soon to be 20 mbs), not a third of the advertised price like some providers
-You get that speed 24 hours a day, it doesn’t matter if everyone on the street are downloading porn at the same time. When I was on 7mbs BH my average speed was around 2mbs.
-All channels are true digital and the signal is comparable with a DVD hooked up via component connections.
-TV signal is three times stronger, and it is noticeable.
-NFL Network and Fox Soccer channel are free.
-Videos on demand are better, plus they will expand it to programs on demand eventually.
-Multi-room DVR with media center. Watch your recorded programs anywhere in the house. Share you photos and MP3s on any TV in the house. This is very useful for me because I have a TV and receiver on the deck so now I can access all my music out there…..CDs are a thing of the past.Cons:
Internet – none
TV – You don’t get Bay News 9 or Catch 47.
The cable to your house has a capacity of about 400mbs, which is 10 times more than copper, so you are future proofed.
And the tie-breaker if you need one – it is CHEAPER.
