QB in Round 1

The common wisdom so far has been that we need defense in round one, but I think the common wisdom is wrong.  We need a QB badly and there are some good ones in this draft.  We can fix the D in free agency hopefully, but as of now it looks like we are in need of Brady Quinn, Brian Brohm, or Troy Smith.

A QB??   BWAAAAHAAA....spare me the anguish.  If you think that QB is the damn problem, think again.

Well when you cannot complete a pass and your qb's completion percentage is in the teens and you have no running game, yeah you'll be passing a bunch...

Every team we play gears up to stop the run. Grads cannot pass even when the defense is keying run...So we run into a brick wall, we can't pass, we are dead...

NO! WAY MORE NEEDS THAN QB. I find that Gradkowski has a very nice shot at becoming very good for us. He is a rookie give him a break. He was a 6th round draft choice... look at his progress. At this rate he will be very good.

I didn't say QB was THE problem.  It's A problem, and where we'll be picking in the draft, it will be the one with the most value on the board.  That is why we should pick one in round one.  Not because it's a cure all, but because it will be the best value pick at a postition of need.

But how many of those are going to go in the top 5-7 picks?  Maybe 2.  

When your VETERAN wideout drops 2 and another is dropped that should have been a TD, how do you blame the QB.  And what the hell kind of realistic expectations do you HONESTLY believe you should have out of your rookie QB with 4 starts?

More than likely we will see a QB signed in free agency, and Grads, Luke, and FA will battle for the starting job. This team needs youth on Defense; I hope we address that in the draft.

This draft looks pretty bad for defense. We need to address that in free agency.

It's weak at the top is what I mean. Like it or not, we are going to be picking near the top. You can bet all the money you like, but that won't change it.

In my honest opinion we have atleast 7 winable games ahead. The Giants game going in was not a winable one. So dont freak out and think we pickin top 5 because we lost.

1-New Orleans-we almost beat them a couple weeks ago.
2-Carolina-see above
3-Washington-they are BAD they lost to the Titans!
4-Dallas-Alot of troubles at many postions.
5-Steelers-We could win this actualy. The Steelers just arent SB contendors this year.
6-Browns-...
7-Seahawks-See steelers.

The last thing we should do is draft a QB #1.  First of all, there are no QBs in this draft that we would want at #1.  Then, the QB would go through the learning process meaning a losing season or three.  Then their contract runs out.

I never blamed the QB for anything.  Go back and look.  He is not the reason we lost this game, but he is part of it.  With a high draft pick, he is the part that will be easiest to fix.

Grads is rookie and he isn't losing games for us.  If you can't see the chemistry between Gruden and Grads you are either blind or stupid.....make you own choice.  Grads isn't going anywhere and there is no way in hell they will draft a QB on day one.
