Those TVs are pieces of **CENSORED**.. stay away from rear projection unless it is Sony's SXRD technology.

Around 1000.. get this and write home about it.. great TV for 950 bucks.

We just bought this one:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8251544&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat95100050006&id=1169512522065

Been VERY happy with it so far.

Looked for about 2 months at many different TV's, liked that one the best.  We went to Circuit City and looked at about 50 TV's that were all side by side, and it was by far the best one IMO.

It is also extremely light and takes up very little space.
Great choice Ray.

Have your tried Sam's?  I got a great Samsung HDTV there 37"  $450. They have the  42" and 47" and then 50".  At 50"and up  I've heard that LCD isn't as good as Plaslma.  Skip rear projection.   The Sony's have the best picture and longest life IMO.

I'm happy with my Sony rear proj LCD. I've had it for almost 3 years now.

Right now, DLP is the way to go for the money.

I am going to wait and see how this "laser" tech works out before I upgrade.

rear projection ain't crap. whoever said that is a fool that believes everything best buy tells him.

i got a samsung 48" rear projection 1080i in my living room that I bought 4 years ago and has one of the best pictures you could ever see.

i got a 42" lcd in the bedroom and trust me, for the money..... go with the rear projection.
