Such high standards we have here. I am thoroughly impressed with the conviction and certitude of you who admonish Beckles for his immortality. 

Than again, I REALLY think that we all have said a dumb thing or two.... Peoples thoughts are many times half baked, such as this ignorant Beckles sh*t. 

Nothing is ever really accomplished if you shun people. If that were the case, we'd all be in a bit of trouble. Nobody is perfect. Beckles clearly said some bs. Can't we leave it at that? He is a good guy. -Not a global intellect. Consider the source and move on.

Make judgements by how one lives his/her life. Why hate? Especially for their thoughts, not actions? It is not Beckles fault that society seems to be unraveling from every seam. It seems that at times like these, we like to project all of our societal woes at one source of ignorance...

I guess what I'd like to suggest is that people actualy aspire for greatness in their own lives, rather than take this stuff so seriously. Beckles is only one dude.

Do people engage in these things? Are they destructive to peoples lives?

I'd rather not "bury my head in the sand" and act like these are not serious social problems. The legality of it means nothing to me. CLEARLY promoting harmful things is unethical... But that is not what Beckles did. In a dumba** way he sympathised with a story of a desperate mother dealing drugs. Very much not what I want to hear, but then again that is life.

I don't wanna hear that kinda crap on a sports radio show! The real question is :

Is Beckles prone to sympathize with scumbags over the air? I don't think that is the case. We'll see

Jimmy the Greek and Rush Limbaugh were fired for saying things that were deemed "stupid".  I personally think condoning the selling of crack cocaine is worse.  It's not the first stupid thing beckles has said just maybe the most immoral.  This guy has the nerve to sit on the radio and question Gruden's character for the way he coaches a team and makes business decisions, but then makes comments like that.

These guys on local talk radio make less money than the average wage earner.   Take a look at 620's ratings in Tampa.  They stink.   Advertisers are not paying much for spots on that station, thus these robo jocks are not making squat.    These idiots stir the same  (*%^^$$#  day after day.   Management is not going to pay them diddly for the kind of performance they turn in day after day.

I really don't even listen much.  I sometimes listen on the ride to work to Sileo if there's something going on with the Magic since he's based out of Orlando and really the only place in this area to get that kind of talk on sports radio.  But even his Magic talk is loud and uniformed.

I think people get their shorts in a wad waaaaay too easily over every comment anyone makes on tv or the radio; I mean it's not like he was lying about anything when it comes to people selling crack in the hood to make ends meet.

I do not condone the use or sale of crack at all myself, but the fact is you can make $1,000 a week doing it as opposed to $400 a week at a normal job and this is what attracts them to doing it.

I only listen to 620 during football season when they cover training camp and the players shows start up. I don't really like all the Anti-Buc talk they spew. It's not being a homer it's just some of the negativity is just and the Bucs deserve it. But some of the negativity is just a personal bias that certain personalities have against the Head Coach or someone else.If Beckles hates Gruden for getting him canned from hosting the Jon Gruden show, hide you're bias bro and be a professional. It's like when I saw Ira Kaufman at a Bucs/Giants game with a Giants hat on. It's my belief if you are a sports writer or comment on sports for a living you need to hide you're own personal bias and learn to be a professional.

And how does that "difference" apply in this situation?  And how is that different in this situation?  The Greek certainly wasn't identifying anyone as I recall - and I don't know how Limbaugh got in hear, maybe mistaken with Imus - who was pilloried for his generic word use in relationship to a team.  Clearly the Greek and Imus were "general stupid statements"
