I've now been in the LA area for a year and a half. Until this month, I have not
has any celebrity sightings except when I went to the Gene Simmon's premiere
party and saw Bill Maher. I kid the president!

But recently, I started a job on a show called, "After Hours with Daniel." Daniel
is a famous French chef with restaurants around the world. We go to various
restaurants in LA and Daniel cooks dinner with that restaurant's head chef.
Then, around 10pm, we shoot the dinner with 8-9 people. Mixed in that group
are other chefs (from LA) and celebrity actors and comedians.

My first show featured Ray Romano from Everybody Loves Raymond. He was
hilarious. I know he is a big Mets' fan so I put my Mets' back pack out for
him to see in hopes that he'd see it and ask whose backpack it was. Then
I would talk some Mets' ball with him. But he didn't see it. And I'm not one
to bother celebrities with small talk.

Then we had Jim Lampley on as another guest at another restaurant. He
was great. My soundman talked boxing with him.

Remember "Something About Mary?" How the heck did you get the beans
above the franks? The actor who said those lines was the guest at one
of the other restaurants. He sang a song at the end of the dinner. Good
singer.

The other night, we were at Benjamin Ford's restaurant in Culver City.
Ben's Dad played Indiana Jones and Hans Solo. And he looks just like him.
He played footsie under the table with his cutie girlfriend.

Nothing eventful happened at those shows. We had one babe on from
CSI Miami. She was a hottie. And then another writer on who I discussed
a the public smoking ban with for a few minutes. Nothing major.

But tonight was different.

We had Melora Hardin from "The Office," and "Thank You for Smoking,"
and other films.

I had just finished a long sequence in the kitchen and my wrist was killing
me. I came back to the dinner table to continue shooting dinner with the
three other cameras and found that there was a break because some of
the celebs. had disappeared into the bar area or bathroom. Melora was
there talking to some crew guys. I was shaking my hand and trying to
get the blood back into it and to reduce the pain.

Melora says, "You have carpal problems? Here's let me see."

And she goes on to give me a wrist massage for a good 2-3 minutes. And
it felt really good. It helped the pain a lot. How many celebrity actresses
would do that? Nice lady. And very attractive! I think I love her.

This is her IMDB page...

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002124

Not very exciting encounters but still kind of fun. Still waiting for my
meeting with Maria Sharapova who has a house close to where I live
in Manhattan Beach.

I recall seeing the show listed and I cant remember the name of one of the guests but I wanted to see it (damn cant remember who it was!) It may have been on with Romano, was there anyone else at that one?

Sounds like an interesting job you have Joe and I'm sure the longer you're in it the more celebs you'll come across. The one night I will never forget for celeb sightings was working the SuperBowl we had here(Ravens vs Giants), and there were a ton on NY based celebs that showed up and were just walking around like nothing.  8)

I saw Nipsey Russell outside the Carnegie Deli one time.  And got my luggage from the same belt as Jim Lampley in Las Vegas once.

I was told that Lampley loved to talk about boxing and sure enough there he was talking to the soundman
about Miguel Cotto. I'm not enthralled by celebrities but I get excited when I hear people like Lampley
are coming to dinner. Romano too. Jim Gray was supposed to be on last night but he couldn't make
it. Damn it!

Oh, I AM enthralled by female celebrities who massage me!

Buc, all these shows are for season two. None have aired yet. They air on the MoJo channel, which is all
HD.

The chef, Daniel, is great to work with. I have three dinners left starting tomorrow. Great pay and an easy
gig. But dinner is 2.5-3 hours long and it's tough to stand in one place for that long with the camera on
your hip or shoulder. I have a bum heel/foot from the time I had a bowling ball thrown at me and hit me
when shooting the punks on "Growing Up Gotti."

On this chef show, we rarely get to eat what was made for dinner. That sucks.

Last night, we were shooting a kitchen scene and going over the menu. Lobsters were pulled out of a
box. The lobster went after the piece of Kobe beef. It grabbed it and wouldn't let go! Carnivorous lobster?

And at dinner, they cooked these live, giant, Prawns, in 400 degree salt. They pour the salt right over
them. What a way to go.

She was very tipsy. And she's very married. And so am I.

I told my wife when I got home. I had to share that story.

Caddy, I am in LA because I live here now. I have another Wife Swap coming
up in July. Unless, that is, I'm lucky enough to latch onto some other show
and don't have to go back to the Swap.

The only reason she was so friendly was the alcohol. Or was it my charm and good looks?

???

I should have brought her home and told my wife, "Honey, if we have a threesome, you
can be this woman's personal make-up artist and make amazing money! OK? Honey?"

Actually, I tried to get my wife on this show when the normal make-up artist couldn't
go one day. I found out the day rate. $650 for 12 hours! And no camera on their
backs! I am working in the wrong career! If you are lucky enough to be a personal
make-up artist for a celeb. you can make $1500 a day and up. Is that insane or what?

Tonight, we has Harry Shearer. No massage. But I DID get to talk to him a tiny bit
about Spinal Tap and one of my favorite Tap songs, "The Majesty of Rock," off of
their "Break Like the Wind" CD. I saw Tap in Orlando in 1992 when they toured
on that CD. It was great.

Harry did a few voices during the dinner: Smithers, Mr. Burns were two. Great
stuff.

He has his own radio show that is supposedly very political. I haven't heard it
yet. It's an online thing...

 8) Java believe it or not back in the early 80`s MJ was really a great guy.  You would not believe the people who would come to the sets where we were filming. At that time he was the biggest celebrity in the World by a long shot.

It is too bad what has happened over the years. But being in the industry for as long as I have there is Truth to the fact that people will lie to extort money from you.

anyway enjoy those young Asian Boys you post as women on here ;D
