Tell me your thoughts on what would have to happen for Gruden to get fired after this season. You can also list what he has to accomplish to get an extension if you wish. I'll go 1st.

We finish under .500 again, finish 20th or worse in offense, and out of the top 10 in defense. If these things happen I don't think he'll make it into next season.

From 12 Pro Bowlers to 0-We got hosed alright

Double digit losses and he is gone. Playoffs and he gets an extension. I don't think Offensive or defensive rankings matter to the Glazers, only wins and losses matter to them. If he gets fired I would like to see Cowher brought in so the Bucs can have some short of consistency, witht heir on field performance.

Anything short of 8-8, Gruden does not get the extension.

Now Bruce Allen on the other hand...

If we get less then 9 wins, I think he is fired.

I am an avid Gruden Supporter and I believe the Glazers like what he's doing as in rebuilding the team, but if we don't make the playoffs with one of the easier schedules along with a pretty talented team, I think they will go with another coach.

The Bucs will once again have a top 10 defense.  They ranked 17th last year, but had pratice squad players on the D line and were missing Kelly and Rice for most of the year.  They will get Rice and Kelly back to join newly acquired Gaines Adams, Kevin Carter, Cato June, and Sabby Piscitelli.  Not to mention we have Barber, Brooks, Ruud, etc.  I definetly see our D returning to form.

As for the offense.  He's got his veteran QB.  You really couldn't fault him for Gradkowski and Simms at the helm, considering they are average at Best QBs.  The man has worked wonders with average vets like Gannon, Griese, and Johnson; and I think he can do the same with Garcia.  So I believe we'll be back in the playoffs and Gruden will remain the coach...

but if we have another 4-5 win season, He is gone.

You can't just put a win-loss label on it. If the team starts out 8-0 and finishes 8-8, probably fired. If the team starts 0-8 and finishes 8-8, he'll stay.

If the team is progressing and we win 7 games I think he stays.

Boid, do you think if Gruden gets canned that the Glazers would keep Allen around as GM?  I know we've always been under the impression that the two are a package deal but I really wouldn't mind keeping Allen around as GM if things don't work out this year with Gruden.

i think it would depend on who is brought in as replacement. I believe Cowher would want total control.

corpse, you had it coming. You don't have any back up here. It's harder to mount your attacks because so few feel the way you do...why is that?...oh yeah - you have to pay to play here. If a real person feels you stgepped out of line your suspended. There aren't any favorites here because we all pay.

Tell Public Enema I said Hi too  ;)

Don't take this wrong, but if you left today no one would no you were gone.
I actually don't get any different treatment over there than you or Boid would. If you consider me a troll then you really have no idea what a troll is. You and I disagree, I believe Gruden will be a great coach in college and will leave the NFL with a losing record. Also on that note, Sam Wyche was the best coach this franchise has seen. I have 30+ years of watching professional and college football to back my thinking up.

I think Gruden and Allen are a package deal.  One goes, they both goes.
