Professional Tennis bores me to death now.     I used to watch passionately when McEnroe, Connors, Borg, Lendl etc were playing.   The guys now bore me to tears.   It may have something to do with the new racquets and how much faster the ball moves now than in the old days.   There's so much less strategy now.   They just pound away.   I believe it's a combination of the guys now having boring personalities and the lack of strategy involved anymore.

I used to play tennis 3 hours ever day when I was in my late teens and early 20's.   I still play on the rare occasion.  I went out the other day and hit with this guy's new racquet.   I barely even had to do anything.  The racquet did all the work.   And I could hit about twice as hard with that racquet than with my old 10 year old racquet.   It's ridiculous now.

I agree. Used to play all day long - and had trouble finding court time back in the 1980s, 1990s. Now whenever I pass the courts, absolutely no one ever plays.  Not sure why the sport has practically died.

I too used to watch McEnroe, Borg, Becker, Graf, Everett, Martina, etc.  Now I couldn't even tell you the top players in the game other than Federer and Nadal and Serena and Venus on the female side.

She's not only easy on the eye, but apparently quite smart. Sharapova learned the English language in 4 months.

Well would you rather end up with a Paris Hilton or a Britney Spears?

I'd much rather have a foreign girl over a girl born and raised in the USA regardless of their intelligence.   American women are spoiled for the most part.   I'll take Sharapova.
