He has the touch on the longball but does lack mobility.

then the question becomes, the longball vs mobility?

I think our O-line has gotten better recently and I expect them to really gel in 07...thus the importance placed on mobility goes down. And with Simms having one of the best deep balls in the league, I expect playoffs if we have a good draft.

Doug Flutie, Mike Vick and TJ Rubley are/were mobile QB's..

Mobility is overrated, if your QB has to constantly make plays on the run, you have bigger problems..

I think he has to.

I think he probably tests the waters at least. That would be the wise move, but if he decides he has a future in Tampa, then you can't argue with a cannon-armed QB looking to prove something..

All we know is that its significant...I think its probably a 2-4 year deal. Probably incentive laden.

I think you are right here.  There just aren't the options out there. Plummer sucks. Then you may have Carr and Brunell, or you may not have them. Who knows.  Even with all the money in the world to spend, you can't get a QB out of thin air.
