PER his trusted source inside the organization..........

J.P. Peterson just reported that the Bucs haven't announced it offically but he has learned from an inside source very close to the Bucs that they have already released Simeon Rice.

Also J.P. Peterson said that the Bucs are preparing a press conference in the next few moments as of 6:20 p.m.

Released?  Why would we do that.  He has value.

Depending on how injured that shoulder is.  I'll wait this one out.  If it's true, Adams better be ready very quickly.

If this is true, it makes me wonder if we just completed a trade that required us to free some cap room

Whoa, good point man....Lance Briggs or Asante Samuels?
I know that Briggs signed for another year but whats the deal with Samuels and the Patriots?

I'm sure Scott and Jim will have something on this soon if it does indeed have legs.

That doesn't make a lot of sense...  We could have received value for him on draft day

WTF!!!!!

Why cant they just keep him this year and then let walk after the season. Now not only is the team worse for 07 but there's over $3 million in dead money for 08.

Well if it's true, Selmon's sack record is going to be safe for a very long time.  The next closest is Barber at like 20 some sacks.   Seems like as soon as a player gets close (i.e. Sapp and Rice) they get them out of Tampa.  I smell conspiracy...

ya seriously, he is a free agent next year, just let him play out his CONTRACT YEAR

he could've had a double digit sack season easily

JP did say it on air, so he must be fairly confident.

Please have a grasp on facts before you spout off about Simeon Rice's '08 dead money. HE is in the LAST year of his contract, thus having no dead money for '08.
